Abstract

The invention provides a fluid-tight package designed such that a consumer may unwrap the portion and take it to his mouth without touching it. The package comprises a support 1 made of synthetic material formed from a ring 2 integral with a thin sheet 3 serving as a handle. A portion 4 is inserted in this ring in such a way that it can be carried by the support 1. The ring and the portion are completely clad in an envelope 10, for example made of wax. A pressure in the axial direction B causes the tearing of the envelope along the ring and forms a shell 13 which can pivot about a part of the envelope forming a hinge 15. Such a package can be used for portions of food products, for example cheese, or for pharmaceutical products.

Claims

1. A sealed package for at least a portion of a solid or soft product, in particular a food or pharmaceutical product, comprising around this portion a sealed envelope (10) arranged to be opened by tearing, characterized in that it comprises a support (1) made of synthetic material formed by a ring (2) applied against the periphery of the portion of product (4), inside the sealed envelope (I (10), and at least a projecting part (3) integral with the ring and extending outwardly through said envelope.

3. Packaging according to claim I or 2, characterized in that the envelope (10) comprises along a part of the ring, on the side opposite to said projecting part (3), a zone of higher resistance, to form a hinge (15) between two fractions of the envelope after tearing.

4. Packaging according to claim 3, characterized in that said zone of highest resistance of the envelope is defined by a recess (6) formed along at least part of the contact surface between the ring and the portion.

5. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the envelope (10) has a stripped shape on either side of the ring.

6. Packaging according to claim 5, characterized in that the envelope (10) has substantially the shape of a sphere or a flattened sphere.
