Abstract

This method consists essentially in starting with at least one strip 1 of lightweight flexible material which may be cardboard or any other similar material, in juxtaposing with each of the opposite faces of this strip 1 flexible, impermeable and strong strips 3, 4 which are formed by a non-stretch synthetic-raffia layer, after having applied a layer of adhesive 7 over at least one of the faces of each of the strips indicated which are to be juxtaposed, in applying a pressure 8 to the assembly, then in subsequently rolling up the multiple strip thus formed into a helix about a mandrel 10, with the edges of the turns juxtaposed so as to form the definitive tubular body 11.

Description

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing tubular bodies and the tubular bodies obtained by this method, making it possible to obtain light, flexible, resistant and impermeable tubular bodies, for multiple applications, among which should be mentioned their use as mold or formwork to obtain pillars, piles and concrete parts.

One currently knows various means for obtaining flexible and lightweight tubes, for example of cardboard, to which it is advisable to apply a special treatment if one wishes to obtain their impermeability. These tubular bodies are, however, devoid of adequate resistance for specific applications.

The process for manufacturing light tubular bodies which is the subject of the invention essentially consists of using a strip of light and flexible material, which may be cardboard or other similar material, to juxtapose flexible strips on each of the opposite faces of this strip. , waterproof and resistant, after having applied a layer of adhesive on at least one of the faces of each of the strips indicated which must be juxtaposed, to subject the assembly to a pressure, then to wrap then in a helix around a mandrel the multiple strip thus formed, with the edges of the juxtaposed turns, so as to form the definitive tubular body.

The tubular body obtained in accordance with the method of the invention essentially consists of a strip wound in a helix with its longitudinal edges juxtaposed, this strip being constituted by an inner layer of light and flexible nature, on each of the opposite faces of which are juxtaposed and fixed by adhesion of flexible, waterproof and resistant bands.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows, by way of nonlimiting example and with reference to the appended drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view showing all of a particular embodiment of the method according to the invention, FIG. 2 is a detail in perspective and on a larger scale which corresponds to a part of a tubular body obtained using this method, FIG. 3 is a detail, in cross section, of this tubular body, FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the finished tubular body and FIG. 5 is a plan view of several folded and stacked tubular bodies.

The process illustrated consists of starting from a strip 1 of light and flexible material, such as cardboard, coming from a reel 2, and from two strips 3 and 4 made of waterproof and resistant material, coming from reels 5 and 6 respectively. bands 3 and 4 are advantageously formed by inextensible plies of synthetic raffia. At the start of the routes, using conventional devices 7, a film of adhesive is applied to at least one of the faces which must be juxtaposed further. Then, the strips 1, 3 and 4, having the indicated glue, converge towards a continuous pressure application device, for example a pair of tangent rollers 8, which regularize the strips, so as to form a composite strip 9 which it is wound helically around a mandrel 10, with the longitudinal edges superimposed, in order to constitute the tube 11.

This tubular body 11 obtained is constituted by an inner layer 1 of a light and flexible material, covered on each of its two faces with an impermeable and resistant layer 3 and 4.

The tubular body thus formed is resistant to humidity and can have multiple applications, for example as a mold or formwork for beams, piles and concrete pillars. Furthermore, its flexible nature makes it possible to deform and flatten it, which thus facilitates its transport, with a notable reduction in volume.

Of course, to implement the method described, it is possible to use devices for distributing, pulling, gluing, applying pressure and winding the strips, which are of a conventional type.

Likewise, neither the materials used in the manufacture of the tubular body, nor the shapes and dimensions thereof will constitute essential elements of the invention.
