Abstract

The invention relates to a device preventing a motor vehicle from being started if the secret code has not been entered. The device includes: a spindle 1, on which there are freely mounted 3 wheels 2 and 2 wheels 2', and a casing 3. The wheels 2 are traversed, through their thickness, and at two diametrically opposed points along a radius R by a system 5 (ball-spring-ball, in a crimped tube) (made from a conducting metal). The wheels 2' are traversed, through their thickness via a tube 7 (made from a conducting metal). Tubes 10 and 10' (made from a conducting metal) are fixed on the internal lateral walls of the casing 3. The components 1, 2, 2', 3 are made from plastic and obtained by moulding. Method of operation: with the aid of the 5 wheels, numbered from 0 to 9, the driver enters the secret code. The electric current flows and excites a relay which closes the electrical circuit between the anti-theft device/starting contact system and the starter.
