Abstract

The electronic device is intended to give a user who has to move in a more or less extensive and complex area information on an actual route on the basis of data supplied to the device by the user. It is characterised in that it consists of an individual assembly, preferably portable, which includes at least one program, one or more memories, an energy source such as a battery 21, a data display screen 10 and control elements, such as keys 11 to 15, at least one 12-13 of which is intended to cause the relative movement, possibly step by step, between at least one list of names 28-29 and an index, another 14 of which, which must be actuated when a certain name from a list chosen by the user is opposite the index, is intended to stop the movement and to control the program so that the latter considers the name opposite the index as constituting the origin of a route, another 15 of which, which has to be actuated when another name from a list is opposite the index, is intended to stop the movement and to control the program so that the latter firstly considers the said other name opposite the index as constituting the destination of the route and secondly causes the screen 10 to display the written or drawn information elements constituting, for the user, the data which are useful for his choice, and for the correct accomplishment of an actual route by him.
