Abstract
Description
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a protective part for a respiratory mask including an air intake of breathing air, at least one suction valve, and an eyepiece.
Currently, the wearer of a breathing apparatus. is usually protected by a mask and head protection helmet.
Such devices are intended for protection in particular against projections and rapid increases in temperature which can reach the head.
It was found that with current devices the user with his helmet and mask was not fully protected against the risk of head burns. Without necessarily being a fire vector, the surrounding gases can be very hot and / or very toxic. In both cases, it is not possible that they can enter in contact with the head of the user through the space between the helmet and the respiratory mask.
To respond to the problem thus posed, the protective part according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of means forming a seal between the mask and the helmet, said means covering the air exhalation valve and having a shape such that they allow expelled air to be returned to the interior of the helmet.
Such a solution improves the comfort of the user by thus using the exhaled air to create a ventilation of the head in the space between the helmet and this one: the exhaled air comes to expel the air located between the head and the helmet which improves the cooling of the head of the user.
The invention also relates to a respiratory mask intended in particular for hot and / or polluted medium, including in particular a snout supplying breathing air, at least one exhalation valve and one eyepiece, said apparatus being characterized in that it also carries means forming a seal between the mask and a helmet for protecting the head of the user of the mask, said means covering the air exhalation valve and extending to the neck of the user. so as to limit the arrival of hot and / or polluted air in contact with the head of the wearer of the respiratory system.

- Figures 6 and 7 a front and rear view of a second alternative embodiment of the part according to the invention.
The breathing apparatus shown in FIG. 1 comprises a helmet 1, known per se, a breathing mask 4, fixed by the fixing means 5 and 15 to the helmet 1, and carrying in its lower part a snout 7 for the arrival of breathing air to the user. The mask 4 is here coated with a protective part 6 according to the invention which covers the snout 7, surround the eyepiece 4 and in contact with the lower rim (2,3) of the helmet.
In Figure 2, the mask coated with the protective part according to the invention is shown in disassembled form: the protective part 6 ooeporte have an upper part 8 and a side part 9, 19, defining with the snout 20 a first opening 13 in which the eyepiece 60 of the mask 4 is housed. The snout 20 covers the snout of inspiration 7, the end of which exits through the opening 12. The upper part 8 8 of the part 6 rests on the face piece 10 of the mask (FIG. 3), at the base of which the exhalation valve 11 is located. It comes to be housed in the space delimited by the facing 15 secured to the lower part 32 of the piece 6 while along the junction line 33 of the two parts between points A and B (Figures 4 and 5). This facing 15 is extended, in its upper part by a piece 14, inclined rearward, coming to marry the neck of the user under the chin. This delimits, substantially above points A and B, two passages 21, 31 which allow the gases exhaled via the exhalation valve to rise inside the housing 32, 15 and to flow through the side passages 21 , 31 towards the head of the user, substantially at the level of his ears. This allows each expiration ventilation of the head of the user by the air he exhales, necessarily less hot than the ambient air.
In Figures 6 and 7 are shown a front and rear view of a simplified variant of the part according to the invention.
This part includes a semi-circular upper part 48 defining with the snout-shaped lower part 50 an opening 43 for the visor of the mask. The snout 50 has an opening 52 for the passage of the snout of inspiration. The semicircular part 48 has two side cheeks 49, 59 whose contour matches that of the user's helmet.
This simplified variant does not have a rear facing, the passage of the exhaled gases towards the head of the user being carried out in a diffuse manner at the level of the lateral cheeks 49, 59.
