Abstract

The present invention relates to a self-locking device intended for fastening shelves. It comprises two elements: a fastening plate 5 extended by a clamping member 4 which clamps the runner 3, and a second element consisting of a fastening plate 6 serving as a pivoting support for a movable part 8, by means of a pin 7, whose position has been carefully designed so as to obtain an acute angle between the parts 6 and 8 in the closed position, allowing a pressure on the runners 3 and obtaining effective locking of the shelf on the uprights. This device has the advantage of not having to drill or alter the appearance of the vertical uprights, which makes it possible to use it for inserting shelves into a finished item of furniture, even a stylish or valuable piece of furniture, thereby increasing its usefulness.
