Abstract

New printed textile article exhibiting colored effects of pearly, iridescent appearance, characterized by the fact that it is based on a fabric made up of two different textile materials which do not react in the same way with respect to the dyes of 'printing, this fabric being made in a weave selected from among the weaves of fabrics or knits making it possible to obtain a face face of the velvet type and a plain back face, the back face consisting mainly of threads having a good affinity with the dyes used while the bristles of the face face are, for their part, based on threads not having compatibility with dyes, the printing of said fabric being carried out on the reverse face of the article.

NEW PRINTED TEXTILE ARTICLE.

  The present invention relates to a new printed textile article, and more particularly a fabric or knitted fabric having colored effects of pearly, iridescent appearance.

  According to the invention, a warp knitting is made on a Karl Mayer type loom of English gauge 28, 3 bars.

  At the end of the loom, the knitting is subjected to a scraping operation on its right side (satin side with

  The ecru knit is then shaved - conventionally -

  tion. Having done this, a colored pattern is printed using the transfer technique on the reverse side of the knitted fabric, the dye being chosen from those which only amount to

polyamide.

  After printing, the article presents on its right side a pearlescent effect visible by transparency, the

  hairs of the article not being colored.

  The articles thus produced can be used in many fields, such as clothing,

  furniture (seats, curtains, etc.) or any other application
