Description

CAISSON ANTI-BRUIT ABSORBANT
ABSORBENT NOISE BOX
The present invention relates to an absorbent sound protection box.

Two techniques are currently used to make noise barriers.

One of them consists in using absorbent and porous materials, such as foams or mineral wools, which are applied to load-bearing metal or concrete structures. These structures have notable drawbacks, namely, that following external aggressions of all kinds, they lose their aesthetic appearance and above all, their absorption qualities decrease compact quickly
The other known technique consists in assembling a number of panels parallel to each other, said panels being provided with cells, in order to produce sound traps. In the French patent
FR - A - 2 439 849, such a device has been described consisting of at least three separate parallel panels inserted along slides arranged in spaced apart pillars. The panels situated on the side of the noise source are provided with bevelled cells, the proportion of void compared to the total surface decreasing by going towards the panel located on the riverside side. A layer of absorbent material can advantageously be inserted between the first and the second panel
This device has drawbacks, namely that it forms a real wall, and therefore requires for its realization and its implementation a significant handling. In addition, it turns out to be particularly heavy and expensive
The invention overcomes these drawbacks. It provides an absorbent anti-noise box, intended to be applied against a rigid carrying surface, both internal and external, of the type comprising
- a rigid external panel having a multitude of through holes
- an absorbent and insulating fibrous layer, placed between the external panel and the bearing surface
The invention is characterized in that the external panel.

présente en chacun de ses bords latéraux un talon venu du moulage, perpendiculaire au plan générale du dit panneau et dont la longueur correspond sensiblement à l'épaisseur de la couche fibreuse isolante et absorbante.has in each of its lateral edges a heel coming from the molding, perpendicular to the general plane of said panel and the length of which corresponds substantially to the thickness of the insulating and absorbent fibrous layer.

- le droit des orifices traversants du panneau externe est arrondi et présente une surrépaisseur de renfort, formant le col du résonnateur ;
In other words, the invention provides an anti-noise box made up of elementary entities that are easily transportable and applicable on a pre-existing bearing surface.
Advantageously, in practice
- the outer panel is made by molding from a mixture of fiberglass and cement
- the panel is made by plastic molding
- the panel is metal based
- the area of the through holes represents twelve to thirty-five percent of the total area of the external panel. It has been found that if the area of the through holes represents less than twelve percent of the total area of the external panel, the absorption is very greatly reduced, or even zero. On the other hand, if the area of the through holes is greater than thirty- five percent of the total surface of the panel there is a noticeable decrease in the mechanical strength of the panel, on the one hand, and on the other hand the assembly no longer behaves like a resonator and the absorption is no longer guaranteed only by the porosity qualities of mineral wool
- The right of the through holes of the external panel is rounded and has a reinforcement thickness, forming the neck of the resonator;
- the insulating and absorbent fibrous layer consists of a mineral wool selected from the group consisting of glass wool and rock wool
- rock wool has a density between 120 and 175 kg / m3; the same absorption properties are obtained with glass wool with a density half that of rock wool
- a protective coating is interposed between the external panel and the insulating and absorbent fibrous layer which prevents defibration of the mineral wool and which, by its anti-fouling properties, constitutes a sealing complement
- the protective coating can consist of either a film made of polyethylene, or a veil of glass fibers, dyed in the mass in order to bring out the patterns better
- the through holes have a varied shape, depending on the decoration desideratas of the architects
The way in which the invention can be implemented and the advantages which ensue therefrom will emerge more clearly from the embodiment which follows, given by way of nonlimiting indication in support of the appended figures.
Figure 1 is a front view of the device according to the invention
Figure 2 is a section through a through hole along line 11-11 of Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a cross section along line III-III of Figure l
Figure 4 is a cross section along the line IV-IV of Figure 1, illustrating the device for assembling the panels together, on the one hand, and the panels on the bearing surface, on the other hand
In FIG. 1, there is a noise reduction box according to the invention, consisting of an external panel (1), on which a certain number of through orifices (2) are provided. These through holes (2) are generally elongated, and their surface represents approximately 22% of the total surface of the panel (1).

However, it should be noted that the surface of the voids is divided into a certain number of elementary surfaces otherwise, the role of sound trap which said panel (1) must play could no longer be. The width of said through holes (2) must be less than four centimeters, otherwise the device can no longer play the role of resonator
The external panel (1) is made of a mixture of cement and fiberglass, which allows to combine lightness, resistance and a pleasant finish appearance. It has dimensions of the order of 120 x 120 centimeters , which corresponds to a good weight / size / covered area ratio. In addition, the panel (1) can advantageously be tinted, as desired by the user. The panel (1) is produced by molding.

As can be seen in FIG. 3, a layer (4) of rock wool about five centimeters thick is placed between the external panel (1) and the bearing surface (3). It should be noted that if you want to increase the absorption in the bass, you should increase the layer of rock wool (4). This layer (4) has a density of around 175 kg / m3, in order to ensure maximum absorption of noise. Between this layer (4) and the external panel (1), a veil of 2 glass fibers of 120 g / m2 (5) is interposed, and it is even possible leave an air space (8) between the panel (1) and the veil (5), this making it possible to increase the resistance of the layer (4) to external aggressive agents
As can be seen in Figure 2, the right of the through holes (2) has an extra thickness (7) of reinforcement, intended to form the neck of the resonator and therefore to improve the absorption qualities of the anti-noise device
The assembly of panel (1), sealing film (5) and layer (4) is fixed to the bearing surface by means of heels (6), forming an integral part of the panel (1). They act as a stiffener for the assembly. At the heels (6), the assembly (1,4,5) is fixed by means of screws (9), dowels (13) and tightening washers ( 10), advantageously made of neoprene so as to obtain maximum tightness. The fixing of the boxes is carried out at the recesses (11) formed on the corners of the panel (1), on the one hand, and also at the middle of each peripheral segment of the panel (1).

I1 goes without saying that at the edge of assemblies constituted by a multitude of juxtaposed boxes, the panels are held by angles or any other similar device.

From the present invention emerge advantages, namely
- very high adaptability to any bearing surface
- low weight and small footprint, making handling much easier
- the use of resistant materials allows a significant increase in the life of the screens
- The cost of such screens is significantly reduced.

In addition to the conventional application of noise absorption of the road type, the device according to the invention is particularly suitable for carrying out the soundproofing of technical premises. In addition, it is also very well suited for the soundproofing of swimming pools, in which, due to the presence of chlorine, the use of noise barriers previously known leads to rapid corrosion of the various materials.
