Abstract

The invention relates to an earthing glove for arc welding. It consists of a welding glove 1 equipped in its lower face with earth braids 2. The earth braids are connected to the earth of a welding unit by the agency of an insulated cable 3 and of an earth clamp 4. The earth glove according to the invention is particularly intended for the welder who works alone and who has difficulty in earthing and fixing welding clamps using conventional means.

Description

GROUND GLOVE
The present invention relates to a grounding glove for arc welding in particular and any other weld using grounding.

 Arc welding requires the assembly of the parts to be welded together, as well as earthing.

 Traditionally, the parts are joined together using clamps, vise grips, or special magnets.

 Similarly, grounding is established by a ground clamp, screw or spring, or by a special magnet.

 It happens that certain parts by their shapes or their volumes, or their brittleness make difficult or impossible their fixing between them as well as their grounding by the traditional means, in this case the welder must be assisted by a person for be able to do their job.

 The mass glove according to the invention makes it possible to remedy this drawback.

 It indeed comprises a welder's glove lined on its surface, in whole or in part, with a flexible electrically conductive material which is connected by means of an insulated cable to the ground of the welding machine.

 So when the welder grasps the part to be welded with this mass glove and applies it to the other part, he performs with one hand the positioning of the part to be welded as well as its grounding, it he only has to lower the protective hood and weld.

Figure 1 illustrates a first embodiment of the mass glove.

Ground braids of tinned copper (2) are connected together, after
cutting, by tin soldering (3) then fixed to a ground cable
insulated (6) and crimped by a sleeve (5) to ground braids.

The set of ground braids and ground cable thus connected and position
born, is glued to the leather welder's glove (1) using a spray gun
glue.

 A ground clamp (7) is attached to the other end of the ground cable.

The mass glove thus formed allows the welder's fingers to keep

According to a preferred embodiment, it is possible to assemble very

Figure 2 illustrates another embodiment of the invention, braids

 In all cases of any of the figures from 1 to. 7, it may be useful to insert between the mass glove and the mass braids, one or more layers of fabric, thermal insulator such as glass or asbestos fabric, or any other material having the desired qualities.

 The invention described in the foregoing, presents good safety for the welder, and can be used in a very large number of applications; "in the small and medium industry", for the assembly of parts in series which does not require that little welding, and generally in all cases where a welder must work alone.

 The invention is not limited to the embodiments shown and described in detail, since various modifications can be made thereto without departing from its scope.

Claims (9)
