Description

The invention relates to glasses provided with retractable arms and,

  more particularly, corrective glasses for sight, sunglasses, glasses for stereoscopic vision, glasses with polarized lenses, eye protection glasses,

  etc ... which will be called below, on the whole, simple-

  glasses, made up of materials with a long lifespan or of materials of low use, for repeated use or for a single use of protection, comprising glasses or lenses made of synthetic plastic,

  and which can be supplied or stored in a configuration

  compact tion in which the branches are contained in

  less in part in the frame which carries the lenses.

  According to a particular aspect of the invention, the glasses are produced in a flat form like a map, which makes it possible to include legible inscriptions therein,

  thus constituting a new article.

  A classic pair of glasses, according to the challenge

or flying particles.

  For the production of conventional frames, it is possible to use plastics or other materials such as

  The main object of the present invention is to provide an improved structure for glasses which has a

  much flatter configuration than previous glasses

  res but which nevertheless has great flexibility of use.

  Yet another object of the invention is to

  come to a simple, flat and compact construction of glasses

  avoiding the disadvantages of conventional embodiments.

  Yet another object of the invention is to

  come to a new printable item that can be used,

  in addition, like glasses, at a low cost.

  These aims, as well as others which will appear below, are achieved, according to the invention, with a mount

  flattened spectacles having at least one longitudinal channel extending

  tending through the part of this frame which receives the lenses and through a connecting piece and opening at one end of the frame to allow a branch to be

  at least partially retracted into this channel and to be de-

  pivoted to a position of use in

  which this branch is substantially in posi-

  tion transverse to the plane of the mount and the channel.

  In general, the channel is designed to receive two branches, each of which can extend from the channel in a respective generally linear direction before said branch is pivotally moved to its position of use. This arrangement has the advantage that

  According to another characteristic of the invention, each branch is provided with a folded end part which can remain protruding when the branch is introduced elsewhere in the corresponding channel, so that this end part can serve as a gripping means facilitating the

  entering the branch to pull it out of the canal.

  As can be seen in Figure 1, a pair of Glasses can be defined as a card 10 in which a pre-cut line 11 delimits a frame 12. The card 10 is obtained by folding a sheet of strong paper, after cutting it, so that a pair of thicknesses 12 and 13 lie parallel to each other and extend in the same direction from a fold 14. The thicknesses are held together by bonding points represented at 15 and they have windows 16 and 17 which are closed each inside, by a panel 18 of a colored transparent sheet serving

  of sun protection screen.

  Although a common channel is used for housing the two branches 50 and 51 (only one of which is shown

  in FIGS. 6 and 7), it is understood that channels available

In the cases visible in Figures 5 and 6 o the branches, shown in solid lines, are retracted, they are contained almost entirely inside and only the end portions 52 remain visible and are

  substantially coplanar with the rest of the frame.

  However, when the branches are extracted from their lodge-

  ment, they can be rotated to their normal use position, as shown in phantom 56,57, to contain the head of the user. It is also possible in the two embodiments described above to produce the channels using a tubular element 81 (FIG. 2A) which can be joined to a mounting element 80, for example by welding with heat, by bonding or

  other suitable conventional manner.
