Abstract

The subject of the present invention is a space-saving barbecue which can be dismantled, is made from lightweight sheet steel and is usable without insulation with respect to its support surface. It consists of four lateral plates, four legs, a bottom plate, a hearth plate and a cooking grid, a space with free air circulation being formed between the two plates.

Description

Barbecue in light sheet steel, removable, compact and usable without insulation from its support surface
The present invention relates to a barbecue made of light sheet steel, which can be dismantled, is compact and can be used without insulation relative to its bearing surface.

It is therefore safe to use it, for example on a table.

 There are different types of barbecues. They are generally of a certain size, since a distance must imperatively be respected between the body of the barbecue - its hearth - and its support surface, if the latter is liable to be damaged by heat.

 If one seeks to limit this distance, then the barbecue must be insulated from said bearing surface. Wood or planks are generally used.

 We have now found a new barbecue which does not have the disadvantages of known barbecues. The barbecue according to the invention is an easily transportable barbecue, of great stability, of reduced size and usable without insulation with respect to its bearing surface.

 The barbecue according to the invention comprises four side plates, four feet, a bottom plate, a hearth plate and a cooking grid. The side plates and the legs arranged together as indicated below constitute the basic structure of the barbecue, in which the bottom plate and the hearth plate are incorporated, a space with free circulation of air being provided between these two plates.

As indicated above, the barbecue shown in Figure I includes
- four side plates (1),
- four feet (2),
- a bottom plate (3),
- a hearth plate (4),
-'a cooking grid (5).

 Said four side plates (I) comprise stapling or mechanical hooking elements (8) making it possible to join them by means of the feet (2) of square shape to form the basic structure of the barbecue. A stapling system is used ensuring a solid locking, and by this, a great stability to the whole.

 Each of the side plates (I) has a curved square bottom edge, on which the bottom plate (3) is placed. It furthermore comprises, and this is one of the essential characteristics of the barbecue according to the invention, gills, or holes, of air intake (6) and of cut out cutouts bent square (7), at above said gills (6). On the cut openings (7) is placed the hearth plate (4), intended to receive the fuel. The air intake vents (6) are therefore located between the bottom plate and the hearth plate. An airy space is thus provided between them. When the barbecue according to the invention operates, the evacuation of heat is facilitated by these vents (6). The barbecue according to the invention has an incorporated thermal protection, which is provided by the air mattress between the two plates and by the bottom plate itself, which acts as a heat shield.

 As a result, it is possible to manufacture, according to the invention, space-saving barbecues, with feet of low height and which can be used without insulation with respect to their bearing surface.

 It has been shown that, in a closed atmosphere, a barbecue according to the invention, the bottom plate of which is 12.3 cm from the ground, works without danger; the temperature of the feet never exceeding 500C.

 Advantageously, the barbecue according to the invention is made of aluminized steel sheet. This type of sheet is the preferred material used for the manufacture of barbecues according to the invention. It allows to combine robustness and lightness.

Its light color also facilitates the dissipation of heat by radiation.

 The four legs (2) of the barbecue according to the invention are square. They include stapling elements complementary to those of the side plates (1).

Any known stapling system can be used. A preferred stapling system according to the invention is shown in Figure 2 and will be described below.

 From the side plates (1) and the feet (2), the basic structure of the barbecue according to the invention is formed as indicated above. The bottom plate (3) is placed on the curved lower edge of the plates (1). The hearth plate (4) is placed, at a higher level, on the cut-out openings bent at right angles (7) of the plates (1).

 Finally, there is, above the hearth plate (4), the cooking grid (5). It can be provided thereon to facilitate the handling of the handles, which may be foldable. The stability of the grid on the whole can be reinforced by projecting elements which enter into notches (13) provided for this purpose on the upper edge of the side plates. The protruding elements may consist of said handles.

 The preferred stapling system according to the invention, shown in FIG. 2, consists of two pairs of complementary elements - cut out openings or windows (11), stamped cut out staples or tabs (9) - locking boss ( 12), circular perforation (10). Preferably, the side plates (1) carry two stamped cut-out stapling tabs (9), one above the other, and a circular perforation (1oY between said two stapling tabs, at each of their ends The feet (2) of square shape bear on each of their faces two cut openings or windows (11), one above the other and a boss (12) between said two openings.

 As is clear, in view of the description and the figures, the barbecue according to the invention is very easily assembled from its basic elements, in a minimum of time, not exceeding five minutes.

 Given its speed of assembly and its ease of transport, it is particularly intended for itinerant users.

Claims (3)

Barbecue made of light, removable sheet steel, of reduced bulk and usable without insulation relative to its bearing surface, characterized in that it comprises  - four side plates (1) with lower edge bent at right angles; each of said plates being provided with air intakes or air inlet holes (6), cut out openings curved at right angles (7) above said openings, on which the hearth plate (4) is placed and elements mechanical stapling (8) making it possible to assemble the four plates by means of four feet (2), of square shape,  - four feet (2) of square shape, comprising complementary stapling elements (8) to those of the plates  - a bottom plate (3) resting on the curved lower edge of the side plates (1),  - a hearth plate (4) placed on the cut-out openings bent at right angles (7) of the side plates (1) and  - a cooking grid (5). 2. Barbecue according to claim i, characterized in that the stapling system between a plate and a foot consists of two cut openings or windows (11) and a locking boss (12) on the foot; two stamped cutout tabs or staples (9) and a circular perforation (10) on the plate; said elements being complementary. 3. Barbecue according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that it is made of aluminized steel sheet.
