Abstract

The invention relates to a protective screen for the eyes adapted to be worn at the same time as a pair of glasses, the said screen including two masks 2 substantially adopting the shape of glasses lenses and which are connected together by a nose bridge, fastening means 4, provided in order to immobilise the screen on a pair of glasses, adopting the shape of a gutter whose bottom rests on the upper part of the glasses 7. The edge of the gutter 4 closest to the eye is connected to the top of the masks 2 and/or of the nose bridge and the edge of the gutter furthest from the eye is extended by a tongue 5 whose width is less than that of the nose bridge and which is curved in the direction of the plane occupied by the masks 2.

Description

 The present invention relates to a new protective screen for the eyes adapted to be worn at the same time as a pair of glasses.

We already know screens of this type comprising two
covers substantially affecting the shape of spectacle lenses and which are joined together by a nasal bridge, attachment means being provided for immobilizing the screen on the pair of spectacles.

 These screens are used to temporarily transform corrective glasses into corrective sunglasses and, in some of them, the attachment means take the form of a gutter whose bottom comes to rest on the upper part of the glasses, the edge of the gutter the one closest to the eye being joined to the upper part of the covers and / or the nasal bridge and the edge of the groove farthest from the eye being free.

 This type of sunscreen, if it has the advantage compared to conventional additional faces, of not damaging the spectacle lenses by scratching, has the disadvantage of floating on the frame.

The present invention proposes to remedy this
drawback and, to do this, it provides a protective screen of the aforementioned type, in which the edge of the gutter furthest from the eye, ends in a
tongue narrower than the width of the nasal bridge and
which is bent towards the plane occupied by the
covers.

The tongue thus forms a sort of hook clip which
can be opened to set up the screen on the
spectacle frame, by elastic deformation of the material
constituting the screen. The hook clamp then resumes its
position which is such that the nasal bridge of the mount of
glasses is surrounded for a large part by the
gutter and tongue. it follows a good immobilization M
tion of the screen on the frame.

 If we refer to Figure 1, we can see a can according to the invention designated as a whole by 1, which screen is obtained by cutting a sheet of plastic material, for example a sheet of Rhodoid or Polaroid, of sufficient thickness for the screen to have the desired rigidity, then by hot deformation.

 A thickness of the order of 10/10 of a millimeter gives suitable rigidity while retaining a satisfactory lightness on the screen.

 The screen 1 comprises two covers 2, a nasal bridge 3 and an attachment gutter 4 which is extended by a curved tongue 5 forming a hook clip.

 The cutout which defines the nasal side of the covers 2 and the lower limit of the bridge 3 allows the passage of the wearer's nose as well as the plates of the spectacle frame.

 As can be seen from FIG. 1, the screen according to the invention is temporarily fixed to the spectacles by introduction of the front bar 7 of the spectacle frame into the gutter 4 after opening, by elastic deformation, of the tongue 5. This operation is simple and fast.

 The screen according to the invention is capable of receiving multiple applications.

 Various examples are given below with indication of the most suitable screen colors and preferred coloring intensities.

 In these cases, the eye is sometimes seriously injured by the windshield shattering and especially by the shattering of the driver's own glasses.

 The screen according to the invention interposed between the spectacle lens and the eye, provides good protection.

 From the above observations, it is clear that the screen according to the invention offers a large number of possibilities, without altering the vision, especially if it is treated against fogging, and without harming the oxygenation of the eye.

 Finally, it should be noted that the screen according to the invention can be adapted to any type or shape of frame, and even directly to the upper part of the spectacle lenses in the case of the absence of a front bar.

Claims (2)

 1- Protective screen for the eyes adapted to be worn at the same time as a pair of glasses, said screen comprising covers (2) substantially affecting the shape of glasses and which are joined together by a nasal bridge (3) , hooking means (4) being provided for immobilizing the screen on the pair of glasses (7), the hooking means (4) taking the form of a gutter which do so rests on the upper part of the glasses (7), the edge of the gutter (4) closest to the eye being joined to the upper part of the covers (2) and / or of the nasal bridge (3) and the edge of the gutter further from the eye being free, characterized in that the edge of the groove furthest from the eye is extended by a tongue (5) of a width less than that of the nasal bridge and which is curved in the direction of the plan occupied by the covers (2).  2- Protective screen according to claim 1, characterized in that the tongue (5) takes the form of a hook clamp.
