 The present invention relates to a composition with a sanitizing effect, in particular it relates to a composition intended for perfuming ambient air.

 The market for air fresheners has acquired increasing importance over the past decade - and several techniques have been proposed in order to produce articles allowing regular and prolonged diffusion of the fragrance active ingredients capable of masking or neutralizing surrounding bad odors.

 Among the techniques proposed, most involve the use of perfumes as unique active ingredients and their dissemination is carried out using various articles such as "spray", aerosol or mechanical bottles, or scented supports of various nature. .

 The international patent application published under the number PCT / CH80 / 00064 summarizes with the aid of a summary table the types of articles presently known and gives for each of them an appreciation of the advantages and possible disadvantages that they present. .

 By simplifying, we can distinguish two main families of room air fresheners. The first group includes deodorizing devices designed to act for an extended period after their activation; the second includes devices intended to promote rapid dissemination and for a relatively short period. As an example, one could classify in the first family deodorants of the type known as "wick", while in the second one would find aerosol deodorants there.

 The present invention provides a new and original solution to the problem of scenting ambient air. It indeed proposes a composition which combines the principle of the use of an inert support for the active perfuming elements, specific to the systems with prolonged action, with that of the devices of the second category mentioned above.

 It is a composition with a sanitizing effect intended for use in a dust bag of a vacuum cleaner apparatus, which composition is characterized in that active odorous substances are absorbed on a granular vegetable support obtained from mulch cobs. .

 It turned out that the proposed support is both economical and very effective. Such a support is obtained by grinding mat rounds, which makes it possible to obtain a granular product of high hardness and of great absorbency.

These corn cob granules are commercial products available at a varied degree of granulation (for example available from the Société Parisienne des
Sawdust, 59 rue Cartier Bresson, 93500 PANTIN - France). They do not contain dust and are perfectly neutral, which makes their use advantageous insofar as they therefore constitute a chemically inert support with respect to the usual perfume ingredients.

 The sanitizing composition of the invention acts thanks to the double action of ventilation and heating exerted by a household vacuum cleaner. The sanitizing composition is for example spread on the floor or on a carpet, at the time desired by the user, and carried by the vacuum cleaner in its dust bag where it is deposited and remains housed there for the rest of the cycle. use of the bag. The sanitizing composition can also be entrained by direct suction by introducing the mouth of the suction pipe into the packaging containing it. The active ingredients in the sanitizing composition are diffused under the effect of the forced circulation of air through the suction system. The purified air which leaves the appliance after having been freed of the dust and particles which 'it has resulted in fragrance when passing through the dust bag and in contact with the sanitizing composition.

 The performance and longevity tests carried out on different types of granules of March roundups have led us to retain a precise particle size quality. It is a product having an apparent density of between 0.47 and 0.52 g / cm3 and the particles of which have a size of approximately 1000 to 4500 11 (microns), preferably however from 1480 to 2080. A product of this type is marketed by the Société Parisienne des Sciures (see above) under the name of GM 12.

 It should be noted that the use of compact compact granules has no disadvantage for the suction process. With an average dosage, such as that indicated below, the suction air flow is only very slightly reduced.

 The amount of sanitizing composition to be used is variable.

It is a function of the user's taste and, of course, of the fragrant power of the active fragrance ingredients.

 As active perfuming ingredients, it is possible to use the usual natural or synthetic ingredients such as those mentioned in the European patent application published under the number 0096243.

 We have observed that by using granules such as those described above (type GM 12), previously perfumed with perfuming compositions at a rate of 7.5% by weight, relative to the total weight of the resulting sanitizing composition , it was suitable to use units of about 20 g of sanitizing composition per complete cycle of use of the same dust bag. Such a dosage allows an effective perfuming of approximately 1 month for an average use of a vacuum cleaner of approximately 20-30 minutes per week, which seems to correspond well to the use which is made by a representative household. The performance tests were carried out in a living room of approximately 30 m3, with ventilation, temperature and degree. normal humidity.

 It goes without saying that the user can renew the charge of sanitizing composition after a certain time of use of the vacuum cleaner and this by aspirating a new unit dose of the composition itself.

 The concentration of perfuming composition in the vegetable granular support can of course vary within a fairly wide range of values. However, a too small proportion reduces the effectiveness of the sanitizing composition, while by increasing this proportion beyond certain values, the perfuming composition may not be completely absorbed, which results in a follow-up. If this is the case, the granules tend to agglomerate and therefore the use becomes less easy. Preferably, concentrations of perfuming composition of between 2 and 10% by weight are used, relative to the total weight of the resulting sanitizing composition.

 The preparation of the sanitizing composition according to the invention is particularly simple. Indeed, it suffices to pour the chosen concentrated perfume on the granules, then to stir everything for about five minutes in order to homogenize the perfume. No special equipment is required for this operation.

 According to a preferred embodiment, the granules of husks of mals, which constitute the support of the sanitizing composition of the invention, can also contain, in addition to the active odorous substances, bactericidal agents. This results in a bactericidal sanitizing composition which has the advantage of neutralizing the bad odors which could be released in the dust bag of the vacuum cleaner as a result of the bacterial decomposition of the residues of organic origin which could have been there. accumulated.
