Abstract

The present invention relates to a manual or automatic device which makes it possible progressively to achieve total stretching of the body and, more precisely, of the spine. This apparatus is characterised in that it comprises a board 1 with casters, the top of the board being articulated to a carriage 2 sliding in an upright 3; an ankle retainer 5 articulated to the frame of the board; a brake 6 acting on the casters; a roller 12 integral with the casters and a manual 4 or electric 17 lifting device. The device according to the invention permits true relaxation of the spine and an improved blood supply to the brain.

Description

 The present invention relates to a device for reaching the inverted position of the body with all its advantages of extension, relief of the spine and relaxation.

 In this field, gynnastic accessories are known in the form of hook ankles using which one hangs from a bar placed in the doorway while holding on to the hands.

 Only people who are well trained and in good physical shape can practice this kind of exercise. There is also on the market a device composed of a swivel board with respect to a central landing on feet, on which one lengthens, horizontally, the feet held by two rolls of foam; then by pivoting backwards we find ourselves hanging vertically.

 This device is not very reassuring and the fact of pivoting when arriving gives a rather unpleasant feeling. In addition, a physical training device of this kind can only be used by flexible and athletic people.

 The object of the invention is to make this exercise accessible to people of any physical condition so that everyone can benefit from the many advantages of this practice. It is nevertheless usable by trained people to whom it allows a good number of new exercises.

 It has, in effect, a device which consists of a board carrying at its lower end casters, and the top of which is articulated to a carriage sliding in an upright.

 In addition, an ankle support mechanism is articulated to a bar of the board frame in order to soften this support.

A brake, placed under the board, allows the user to lock the wheels in any position of their stroke.

 The main advantage of said device lies in the fact that it allows the user to arrive progressively, safely, with his own force or automatically, to obtain his suspension by the feet.

 In the manual version, the traction force is first multiplied by a hauling device of the traction element, then direct after a more favorable angle of the board relative to the upright.

 In the automated version, the trolley is connected to a gearmotor placed at the top of the upright, by a cable or a chain meshing with a pinion of said gear motor. In both cases, the second end of the traction element is wound up, on a drum integral with the rollers, and it is by pulling in the direction of the unwinding on the traction element, that it causes a rolling torque on the casters and, by the same token, the descent of the carriage into the upright.

 The invention will be better understood thanks to the following description which relates to preferred embodiments, given by way of nonlimiting examples, and explained with reference to the appended schematic drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a view side of the device which shows it in its middle position plus the two extreme dotted positions.

 Figure 2 is a view similar to that of Figure 1 showing in more detail a variant of a manual ascent-descent mechanism, as well as a variant of a hooking of the feet by hook ankles.

 Figure 3 is a view analogous to that of Figure 2 showing in more detail a variant of an electric up-down mechanism.

 Figure 4 is a view showing in more detail a variant of an ankle holding mechanism.

 According to the invention, and as shown more particularly, by way of example, the fiv. 1, 2 and 4 of the appended drawings the apparatus consists of: two casters (7) mounted under a board (1) the top of which is articulated to a carriage (2) sliding in an upright (3) in C - of a traction element (4); holding the pegs (5) - a brake (6) acting on the rollers (7) and a low damping element (8) of the carriage in the upright.

 The user lies down on the board in the low position (1), engages his ankles in the holding device (5) open, composed of two padded half-shells (16), a clamping element (14) and d 'a safety pin (15). In a simpler embodiment of the device, the attachment can be obtained by means of hook ankles (13) which are fitted before lying down and which hang on a bar of the board frame (in ).

 by successive pulls on the traction element (4), the user hoists himself up to reach the vertical position. This element is attached, on one side to the top of the upright (9) and on the other side to a winding drum (12) secured to the rollers (7). It is guided by pulleys (11) and carries a stop (21) for hauling.

 If he wishes to proceed in successive stages, the user can block the brake (6) at any time or at any angle of inclination of the board (1).

 In the motorized version, a variant of which is shown in FIG. 3 more precisely, the carriage (2) is connected to a geared motor (17), placed at the top of the upright (3), by a cable or a meshing chain to a pinion (18) of said motor. also in this case, the other end of this traction element (4) is wound when mounted on a drum (12) secured to the rollers (7).

 The user can control the lifting device by means of a switch (19) while lying on the board.

 In order to improve the comfort in the vertical position, a wedging cushion (20) can be provided at the knees, making it easier to keep their natural bending during the total stretch.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements, without thereby departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (3)

 1. Physical training apparatus for reaching the inverted position of the body, characterized in that it includes a skateboard (1), the top of which is articulated with a carriage (2) sliding in an upright ( 3); a traction element (4) passing over guide pulleys (11) and winding up on a drum (12), whereby the user hoists himself; a bar (10) forming part of the plank frame to which hook hooks (11) hang; a brake (7) acting on the rollers (7) and a low damping (8) of the carriage in the upright.  2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the maintenance of the pins is obtained by padded half-shells (16), articulated to the bar (10) of the board frame and actuated by a clamping element (14).  3. Apparatus according to any of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the movement stéffectue by an electric lifting device (13) placed at the top of the upright (3).
