Abstract

The object of the invention is, in a simple, efficient and rational way, to produce an apparatus which is specially shaped in order to permit straightening of the hair with the possibility of styling the straightened lock. The apparatus comprises a body 1 with a gripping part 1a and a working part 1b which is equipped with two branches 1b1 and 1b2 arranged opposite each other and capable of being brought closer together angularly. The body of the apparatus is shaped directly or in an attached manner in order to permit manual bringing-together of the two branches 1b1 and 1b2. The periphery of each of these branches has bristles P and/or another means capable of interacting closely with the hair with a view to holding it in a firm manner without immobilising it. The bristles P or the like make it possible to seize the hair, on the one hand between the opposing parts of the branches 1b1 and 1b2 of the apparatus with a view to stretching it (drawing it out) in combination, during gripping thereof, with a traction movement exerted on the apparatus, and/or, on the other hand, in combination with the apparent outer profile of the two branches in the closure position, to ensure finishing and flexibility of the hair in the manner of a brush. These branches 1b1 and 1b2 may have different transverse sections 4 and 5.
