Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device for supplying balls to a ball launcher integrated into a simulator for initiation and training in the main strokes of tennis and its derivatives.
In the current state of the art, the ball throwers integrated into the simulators have a stable throwing cadence which can only be modified by working on the ball thrower equipped with a ball feeding system synchronized with the launch device.
The device according to the invention allows use with a rate of throw independent of the training of the ball launcher. A manipulation on the ball launcher allows either the use of a single ball or the use of 2 olb balls. In the first case with a single recycled ball unbreakably the cadence is relatively slow and is ideal for beginners and the repetition of a precise stroke of the sport coew - denied. With 2 or 3 balls the cadence is fast, the ejection of the waiting ball in the ball launcher being controlled for example by the impact on the set of receiving nets of the ball previously ejected and returned by the player on the said game of net
As a result, the way of playing has a direct influence on the cadence. indeed a fast game which can simulate for example a game of attack with the net in a part of tennis accelerates the rate whereas a revival game with ample gestures slows down the said rate.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows with reference to the appended drawings which schematically and simply represent an embodiment.
In these drawings - Figures 1 and 2 are overall views in section of the ball launcher - Figure 3 is an embodiment with trigger control integrated in the receiving net.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the ball launcher is equipped with a pull tab 1 in which a groove 2 allows a movement in the axis dlw launch, movement limited at each end by the threaded rod 3, the knurled button 4 serving to immobilize the zipper in the right position. When the zipper is in the front position (figure 2) the ball 5 which is at the base of the hopper chute falls directly and is ejected immediately. zipper i is in the rear position (Figure 1) the bale that presents itself is stopped by the neck formed by the lower area 6 of the zipper and the front crossmember 7 of the ejector. This ejector is articulated at 8 on the frame of the lance For the ball thus stopped to enter the ball launcher, it suffices to pivot the ejector by exerting a pull in the direction of the floche in FIG. 1. The tongue 9 of the ejector has 2 functions, a part elîp l called the displacement of the cross-member 7 which must be in the "closed" position when it is in contact with the bottom of the casing, on the other hand it prevents 2 balls from being introduced at the same time, the first ball returning 11 ejectors to the "closed" position as soon as it has passed and comes into contact with the drive wheel 10 toothed or non-toothed wheel, by pressing it on said tongue. The cross member 7 is heavy enough for the unbalance created by this weight to keep the closure of the neck in the condition of 'use and independently of the vt ations' & other external phenomena.
FIG. 3 is an overall view which represents an example of a control system d of the ejector. In the rear thread 11 there is integrated a frame -u "octopus" which can be composed of 3 relatively taut strands 12 and fixed at one of their ends to the frame 13 of the simulator, a frame which supports the game of the net. These cables are connected together at their other end and are extended at their base by a cable 14 connected directly to the cross member 7 of the ejector.
When a ball thrown by the player is crushed on the net before reception the shock due to the depression of said net is reflected directly on the rear net 11 in which is integrated and almost woven the frame or "octopus"
The logical and observed result is that the rope 14 rising suddenly exerts a traction on the cross-member 7 with, as a consequence, the pivoting of the ejector which then lets the ball pass while waiting in the neck. The arrangement and the number of ropes stable or elastic material and which make up the frame or "octopus" can be different from what has just been described, the ideal being that the shock made by the ball is reflected on the rope 14 whatever the place where the ball crashes on the whole landing net.
It is possible to envisage a photo-electric cell or radar device placed in front of the simulator and scanning the surface receiving net, device emitting an electrical signal when a bullet passes through its detection field. This signal is then transmitted electrically or by infrared process to an electromagnet which controls the rotation of the ejector and by Consequently, the opening of the bottleneck. This detection system can also be placed at the exit of the ball launcher, the triggering of the ejection being then controlled by the passage of the ejected ball, triggering which can be delayed by a timer relay adjustable allowing any rate of launching. It can also be considered the control of the electromagnet which actuates the ejector by an electric signal emitted by the deformation or tension of a rope used to suspend its upper part of the landing net, a rope in which an electrical breaking component would be integrated, the said rope being sensitive to any bullet impact in the landing net which it supports.
It goes without saying that these improvements have only been described and shown for purely explanatory purposes and are in no way limitative and that various modifications could be made to the form of embodiments indicated without departing from the scope of the invention. It is particularly so that the ejector 15 instead of pivoting about an axis could move vertically at the bottom of the casing of the ball launcher in 2 grooves 16 as shown in FIG. 4.
The devices described can also be applied to the supply of a ball launcher equipped with a ball tank, the ball launcher component of the simulator then becoming an autonomous court ball launcher.
