Abstract

The invention relates to the construction of a small tractor with 4 wheels made from two articulated half-chassis. The articulation is central and along two axes. The axles are independent according to the inequalities of the terrain by virtue of a pivot. In second place, the steering of the vehicle is ensured by an articulation with a vertical axis at mid-distance from the two axles. These two arrangements give rise to good guidance, no abnormal wear of the tyres and consequently to maximum efficiency of the traction and steering power. This mini-tractor according to the invention thus has very high performance in demanding locations and over difficult terrain or sites.

Les engins connus dans ce genre et plus particulièrement dans les plus petites dimensions sacrifient le confort du conducteur ou les qualités d'adhérence des roues motrices. En effet, les solutions retenues sur les tracteurs plus importants n'y sont pas retenues. Pour des raisons évidentes d'économie la direction n' est assurée que par des petites roues ou même par une seule roue particulièrement peu efficace. Ces roues s'enfoncent facilement et par suite freinent le tracteur. De plus le bâti du tracteur est rigide : la charge et le conducteur sont soumis aux mêmes réactions négatives du terrain. Les roues directrices, si elles sont deux, se débattent sur une faible amplitude. Il s'ensuit, lorsqu'une seule roue porte, un report en diagonale de la charge donc une diminution de l'adhérence d'une des deux roues motrices et ainsi un patinage rapide.Le problème de diminution de l'efficacité de l'entraînement des roues motrices se ressent aussi dans le cas d'une seule roue directrice quand le conducteur désire tourner du côté où le tracteur penche. Ces caractéristiques réunies engendrent un très bon rendement dynamique du tracteur dans les terrains degradés. Son agi lité remplace avantageusement les composants statiques tels que les masses dites d'adhérence sur-les tracteurs plus sommaires.
