Abstract

The invention relates to the treatment of wood against its natural enemies. The wood is impregnated with an aqueous solution containing a major proportion of sodium silicate and a minor proportion of coagulant. The invention applies especially to the protection of the exposed outside wood in a tropical marine environment and in particular to the protection of the wood of the coconut tree.
