Abstract

The barrier comprises longitudinal barrier elements carried by support posts in the ground. This barrier is constituted by the combination of separate elements, comprising, on the one hand, the actual barrier elements including longitudinal members 3 made from metal tubes and, on the other hand, movable posts 1 provided with a baseplate 5 for support on the ground. Now, these posts are equipped with sleeves 6 which are capable of receiving the ends of the longitudinal beams 3 of the barrier elements 2, these ends including a locking device, capable of locking them in place after engagement in the corresponding sleeves 6. The barriers thus constituted can be moved and dismantled easily. These barriers can be used for guiding the public in shops, inside exhibition halls, etc.

Description

 The present invention relates to barriers used to stop or guide the public in various places, for example in shops, in exhibition places, in yares and other public places.

 Barriers of this kind are formed by longitudinal elements of barriers, the ends of which are fixed to support posts on the ground.

 In most cases these are themselves fixed to the ground. However, this solution has the drawback that it is not possible to modify the location of the corresponding barriers as required.

 It is true that there is another type of barrier which is completely autonomous, and which is more specifically intended to be used to channel the public during street demonstrations. However, these are barriers having the drawback of being heavy and not very manoeuvrable during the handling operations necessary for their installation. Indeed, these barriers are constituted by a whole in one piece ccmprenant, to its ox- hoppers, ground support posts and, between them, a longitudinal barrier element f As a result, these barrier barriers also have the disadvantage of having a nn-t-bearing bulk when stored during periods Q they are not used. For these various reasons, barriers of this kind are not suitable for being used in shops or other premises where it is necessary to be able to have guide barriers.

 This is why the subject of the present invention is a barrier specially designed for this use and which is arranged so as to be able to be easily disassembled and moved as required, and in particular according to certain changes in layout. .

For this purpose this barrier is constituted by the combination of separate elements, comprising
- on the one hand, elements of the barrier themselves, supporting beams made of metal tubes,
- on the other hand, movable posts provided with a support base on the ground, and provided with sleeves capable of receiving the ends of the side members of the barrier elements, which include an elastic locking device, capable of ensuring their locking in place after engagement in the corresponding sleeves.

 Thus the present barrier can be easily moved after having possibly been disassembled into several elements. Furthermore, when it is not in use, it can be easily stored in a very small overall volume after disassembly.

 This comprises three distinct elements, namely: two vertical posts 1 made of metal tube and an element 2 forming a barrier. The latter itself is constituted by two beams 3 in metal tube joined by crosspieces 4, the assembly somehow affecting the shape of a ladder intended to be arranged in a vertical plane, the two housings 3 extending horizontally , however that the crosspieces 4 are vertical.

The posts 1 are provided, at their lower end, with a base 5 for supporting the ground, capable of ensuring their stability in place. However, each of these posts is also provided with two sleeves 6 located at the levels desired to receive the ends of the side members 3 of the element 2 forming a barrier. Each of these sleeves has a bottom and is fixed to the corresponding post 1 by simple screwing by means of a screw 7 (see FIG. 3)
The ends of the side rails 3 each comprise a locking device capable of ensuring the locking in place of the corresponding end after engagement in their sleeves 6 of a post 1. In the assembly shown, this locking device is constituted by a hooking finger 8 slidingly mounted inside a transverse bore formed in a plug 9 fits in each of the ends of the side members 30This hooking finger is subjected to the action of a thrust spring 10 housed in the inside this same cap. This spring tends to hold the latching finger 8 in the position shown in FIG. 3, for which the end of the latter protrudes from the side of the corresponding spar 3 through a hole it made in the latter. The wall of the finger 8 has a shoulder 12 intended to abut against the edge of the hole 11 there to stop this finger in the position of FIG. 3.

In the latter the projecting end of this finger is then engaged inside a hole 13 provided in the corresponding receiving sleeve 6. Thus the spar 3 considered is perfectly assembled with the respective post 1
However, to separate the barrier element 2 from one of the posts 1, it suffices to retract the two corresponding locking fingers 8 by pushing on them in the direction of the arrow F 1 (see FIG. 4), after which the side members 3 can be released outside the receiving sleeves 6 corresponding by sliding along arrow F 2. By the same operation the barrier element 2 can be separated from the other post 1, so that the present barrier is subdivided into three separate elements which can be stored in a very reduced volume.

 However, these nits can be reassembled very easily by a reverse operation to that described prEcedems t. In this regard, it should be noted that the assembly and disassembly operations of the constituent elements of the barrier according to the invention can be carried out without any tool thanks to the particular design of the locking devices of the side members 3. This barrier can be very easily moved, either in complete form or after disassembly into several elements. Under these conditions it can very easily be subject to site changes.

 As shown in FIG. 5, each of the posts 1 can carry, on the same level, several receiving sleeves 6, 6a, 6b and 6c arranged at right angles to each other. Under these conditions, this post can serve as a support at the ends of as many barrier elements 2.

 Thus when the same post comprises, at each desired level, two receiving sleeves 6 and 6a arranged at right angles, it can serve as a support for two barrier elements arranged at right angles. When it has two receiving sleeves 6 and 6b arranged at 1800, it can serve as a support for two barrier elements arranged in the extension of one another. In the latter case, it is then possible to assemble several barriers, one after the other, to form a very long guide corridor.

 However, the barrier according to the invention is not limited to the single embodiment described above. Thus, the locking devices, - provided to ensure the assembly of the barrier elements on the posts, can be incorporated in the receiving sleeves 6 of these posts, instead of being provided on the side rails themselves. Furthermore, these locking devices can be produced differently.
