Abstract

Device relating to the automatic setting of the alarm unit on a motor vehicle. The invention relates to a device making it possible to automatically set the alarm unit without risking forgetting and without any supplementary manipulation other than the simple fact of removing the key from the contact. Between the battery 10 and the "starter contact" block 5 there is mounted in series an automatic arming device 7 for an alarm unit 9. This device comprises a movable switch maintained elastically in an active position for feeding the alarm unit, when the contact is broken. When contact is set an electromagnet excited by the supply of current attracts the movable pad and thus disarms the alarm unit. The invention finds an application especially for motor vehicles.

Description

 The present invention relates to a device allowing the automatic tensioning of all alarm panels, and more particularly those which are intended for the protection of vehicles against theft.

 Currently, a large number of motor vehicles are equipped by their owner with anti-theft systems of all kinds, the present invention applies to anti-theft systems powered by the electric current produced by the car battery, that is to say, at a voltage of 12 volts for cars or 24 volts for trucks.

 Known anti-theft systems often consist of several elements, one of which ensures the operation of any signaling system allowing the driver to be notified (siren - pocket transmitter - etc ...). This element which is the brain of the alarm system is called "alarm center" and is turned on manually and voluntarily by the driver when he leaves his vehicle.

 Currently powering the alarm panels is done by manipulation either of a conventional switch, or a digital keypad with registered combination or a remote control.

 At each exit from his vehicle, the driver must make a maneuver to activate the tensioning device of the alarm center, similarly when he enters his vehicle, he must proceed in reverse to neutralize the system. alarm.

 In practice, the trigger device for energizing the alarm center, however simple it may be, must be actuated whenever it is useful, but requires the active intervention of the driver, which leads to risks of forgetting or neglect, particularly due to lack of time.

 The present invention, on the contrary, allows automatic arming of the alarm center as soon as the driver withdraws the ignition key from the "contact - start" handset and this without other additional operations. Likewise, to deactivate the alarm center, all that is required is to start the vehicle or put the ignition key to the first click (accessories position) in the "contact - start" handset.

 To this end, the invention relates to an anti-theft system equipped with a device for activating and stopping the alarm center controlled by the driver, characterized in that the said device is actuated by the introduction or removal of the ignition key from a "contact - start" handset and in that it comprises for this purpose, a switch placed in series between the battery supply and the "start contact" handset and a means for actuating the switch controlled by the position of the ignition key.

 An indicator light allows the correct functioning of the device to be checked when it is switched on and remains on all the time the alarm system is on standby, thus ensuring a deterrent effect against theft.

 A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a diagram showing the anti-theft system of which it is composed in order to ensure its proper functioning.

Claims (7)

 I) System in particular for a vehicle comprising an alarm center and an apparatus for activating and stopping the alarm center controlled by the driver, characterized in that said apparatus is actuated by the introduction or the removal of the ignition key from a starting contact handset and in that it comprises for this purpose a switch placed in series between the battery supply and the starting contact handset and a means of actuating the 'switch controlled by the position of the ignition key.  2) System according to claim (I) wherein the actuating means of the switch is constituted by an electromagnet whose excitation is connected to the combined start contact.  3) System according to claim (1) -characterized in that the switch consists of a fixed pad connected to the power source and a mobile pad connected to the alarm center and moved between the fixed pad and a structure connected to earth, towards which it is elastically stressed.  4) System (1) (2) and (3) taken together, characterized in that in the running position of the vehicle the engagement of the ignition key in the "contact-start" combination excites the electromagnet which attracts the mobile pad in contact with the fixed pad.  5) System according to claim (4) characterized in that in the position of the key engaged at the first notch or accessory position or in case of withdrawal of the key, the movable pad is elastically separated from the fixed pad and brought back into contact with the ground by the excitation of the solenoid coil.  6) System according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises an indicator light fixed to the dashboard and connected to the movable block of the switch.  7) System according to claim (6) in that the indicator light being placed on the dashboard is on when the vehicle is parked, and has a deterrent effect on possible thieves.
