Abstract

The thermometer comprises: a suction cup made of an elastic material 3, 5 for attachment to a smooth wall; a flat liquid-crystal element 1 to indicate temperature; and a transparent block 2 acting as a lens, having at least one flat side 2a, the indicating element 1 being placed against the said flat side 2a of the block 2 with the indicating surface of the element against the said flat side; the block 2, with the element 1, being held elastically clamped in the middle of the suction cup; and the side of the block opposite the flat side being free to permit observation. The temperature of the water in the receptacle can thus be permanently observed.
