Ces leviers prennent appui d'une part sur un anneau coulissant sur le cylindre qui les porte, d'autre part sur la partie inférieure centrale, imprimant à cet anneau ainsi qu'aux pointeaux qu'il porte un mouvement vertical permettant l'obstruction des alésages de passage d'huile, lors de l'enfoncement de la partie supérieure dans la partie inférieure.Le pivotement des leviers provient de l'augmentation de diamêtre de la partie centrale inférieure, dont la forme sera choisie en conséquence.
