Abstract

Instrument for adjusting doors and windows after installation. The subject of the invention is a device for accurately measuring the internal dimensions of a door frame or window frame in order to obtain a good final adjustment while ensuring a quick and simple use. Referring to the attached drawings, 1 is the support for the graduated square 2. The guides 3 equipped with slots for reading the corrections are welded to 1 and equipped with screws 4 for locking the square. The pin 10 assembles the two sides of the square and allows articulation. The components 8 associated with the screw 9 make it possible to keep the set angle. The component 11 is immobilised at the set value by the screw 12. The guides 5 supporting the assembly are held at the chosen separation by means of the screws 7. These same guides 5 are equipped with plates 15 and with convertible hinges 6. The screws 14 lock the components 15 after adjustment. The pins 13 enable the female hinges 6 to be converted into male hinges. The screws used for locking all the movements are equipped with wings.

Description

 The subject of the present invention is, as a new industrial product, an instrument which makes it possible to obtain better precision and greater speed of execution of the adjustment of the doors and windows after their installation.

The people who are hitherto responsible for carrying out this work do so by conventional and rudimentary means (such as taking measurements using a meter, or in most cases visual approximation).

The instrument which is the subject of the present invention is remarkable in that it comprises a support with a graduated, deformable square taking reference to two hinges, all of this ensuring better execution precision, greater speed in taking the ribs to be corrected while maintaining ease of use.

Figure 1 is a view of the deformable graduated square.

Figure 3 is a view of the guides supporting the convertible female hinges and sliding on the square support.

This instrument must be made of aluminum to maintain a light handling.

The graduated square must vary in its right angle to allow it to take the parallel to the ground or to the upper upright in case these are not perpendicular to the vertical uprights.

The lower end of the square can be fitted with an extension device to allow the width to be taken during handling.

This device is not particularly essential for windows but can prove to be interesting for doors.

 This must be able to vary so as to obtain a variation in the total width of the device of between 65 and 85 cm., The most frequent cases * D; in other cases the use of the meter may prove useful for simplify.

The instrument firstly comprises an aluminum support consisting of a square tube 1. On one of its faces are welded two guides 3 equipped with locking screws 4

Guides 3 are equipped with a window to allow the graduations of the square to appear and allow corrections to be made with precision

The parts 15 fitted with the hinges 6 can slide from right to left and vice versa this to compensate for the fact that the hinges of the window or door frames are offset.

The parts 15 are bent to prevent the locking screws 14 preventing the pivoting of the instrument to its position of use, (ie equivalent to the door or closed window)
This folding is all the more necessary since sometimes the hinges (generally the windows) are doubly offset.

The screws 14 ensure the blocking of the parts 15 this in order to have good rigidity of the assembly and to avoid incidents due for example to a stall.

To keep the same reference point when transferring the ribs of the frame to the door or window, just unscrew the screws 14 and pull to release the pieces 15 from their guide and make them make a U-turn, introduce them again into the guides.

The hinges 6 are drilled over the entire length to allow transformation into male hinges by the addition of the axes 13.

As is obvious and as is clear from the foregoing, the invention is in no way limited to that of its modes of application any more than to those of the embodiments of its various parts having been more especially indicated; on the contrary, it embraces all variants.
