Abstract

The invention relates to a novel translucent corrugated material which is intended, in particular, for forming cladding panels or roofs. It is characterised by the combination of the two following elements: a. A corrugation of known characteristics which matches the corrugations of existing materials with respect to both the undulation lengths, amplitudes, undulation shapes and the thicknesses of the materials; b. A structure in the form of at least two panels joined by plane partitions which all run in the direction of the corrugations, that is to say that the joins between the said partitions and the said panels are rectilinear.

Description

The present invention relates to a new translucent corrugated material which is intended to form cladding panels or roofs, in particular.

Problem, posed
For cladding and roofing sheets, it is useful to look for materials that allow light to pass through, which are light or have sufficient insulation.

State of the art and disadvantages
For opaque cladding, it is well known to use metal sheets, asbestos-cement, plastic or other. These sheets are flat or are deliberately deformed to increase rigidity in at least one direction. This is the case of the well-known corrugated sheets.

It is also possible, in the case of plastic, obtained by extrusion or by a similar process, to obtain profiles with much more complex structures. It may also be noted that the use of plastics makes it much easier to obtain translucent structures. This is the case when using polyvinyl chloride or polyester. An excellent application is obtained with polycarbonate (sold under various trademarks among others ttAKROLONI from Bayer as a basic product). This latter material has the advantage of being classified in category M1, that is to say that it does not propagate fire in the event of fire.

In the latter, there are sold plates consisting of at least two sheets connected by partitions perpendicular to the advantage that they have an excellent moment of inertia, incomparable lightness and insulation properly.

However, like a large proportion of metal constructions made of corrugated sheets, the marriage of these flat plates with corrugated sheets is very delicate because it is necessary to use special connection profiles or to use fillers or putty.

The present invention is intended c; remedy these drawbacks.

statement of the invention
The invention is characterized by the combination of the following two elements a) an undulation of known characteristics adapting to the undulations of existing materials both in terms of - wavelengths - amplitudes - waveforms - as well as material thicknesses.

b) une constitution en au moins deux plaques reliées par des cloisons planes allant toutes dans le sens des ndulations, c'est-h-dire que les jonctions entre lesdites cloisons et lesdites plaques sont rectilignes.b) a constitution in at least two plates connected by planar partitions all going in the direction of the ndulations, that is to say that the junctions between said partitions and said plates are rectilinear.

As most corrugated sheets have a sinusoidal profile, we give as interest of the invention exactly the same profiles and we also give it a thickness equivalent to that of corrugated sheets or at least corrugated sheets of asbestos-cement of 3, 5 to 16 mm maximum. The wavelength of the asbestos-e-cement sheets is commonly 177.55 mm; this is why we frequently give this same wavelength to the material of the invention.

The materials of the invention are most of the
times made by an extrusion process or the like, so that the corrugations and partitions are arranged in the direction of passage in the fibers. Most of the time, for simplicity and simplicity, the plane of the partitions is then perpendicular to that of the plates.

Before my and industrial results
It is easy to understand naked the plates of the invention are easily married to corrugated sheets that are commercially available. Their implementation. is easy. Their weight is light. They provide excellent insulation and it is easy to make them translucent or even transparent, which is a significant advantage.

The invention will be better understood with the aid of the description below which gives some nonlimiting examples of practical embodiment as illustrated by the accompanying drawings.

Brief description of the drawings
In these drawings,
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the corrugated plate of the invention.

Figure 2 is a partial perspective view of a second embodiment of a corrugated plate of the invention.

Figure 3 is a detailed perspective view of a variant of the device of the invention.

F)escription de quelques modes de réalisation. F) description of some embodiments.

In Figure 1, there is shown a first embodiment of the invention consisting of two plates (1) and (2) connected by partitions (3). The whole is wavy, according to a length of indes "I". sheet has a thickness "e" which may vary, as explained below. Note that the plane of the partitions (3) is perpendicular to the plates (1) and (2).

In Figure 2, there is shown another variant of the invention yes consists of three plates (4, 5, 6) connected by partitions (7, I). In Figure 3, there is shown a possible variant where the partitions (9) are not perpendicular to the plates (10), (read).

It is realized that the moment of inertia of the plates of the invention is considerably increased compared to conventional plates not only because of the corrugation, but also because of the partitions (3, 7, e, 9). The set is light and has excellent insulation qualities.
