Abstract

Cabin intended to allow people who move about in wheelchairs to gain access to buses and trains. An open cabin, placed on the inside at the right of the bus during transport, which is set down on the ground, when stopped, in order to allow the entry or the exit of a wheelchair. The movement of this cabin is carried out automatically by the action of a system of 2 sliding jacks 1, 2 acting in 2 perpendicular directions.

DESCRIPTION:
The attached table shows the new installation of the
cabin, which moreover becomes a simple nacelle, since it
is located inside.

Located as indicated above on the right lateral side of the
bus, the nacelle (3) goes from the interior level N to the level ex
terior O and vice versa, thanks to an orthogonal system of 2
cylinder slides (I) and (2). The slide (I), when opening,
allows to pass (3) from position (A) to position (B).

The slide (2), when opening, allows passage (3) of
position (B) to position (C).

The closure (4), spreading actuated by a jack, passes from
vertical position to position (D) to allow exit
and the entrance to the wheelchair.

A sliding door (5), in 2 elements, allows the exit and
the entrance to the basket.

The whole system is fixed to the bus via
of the slide (I). In the drawing, this slide is placed
on the bus floor to facilitate adaptation; we will be able to
also, depending on the size of the rancher, place (I) in
the hatched area to avoid it being an obstacle
obstructing the movement of travelers.

OPERATION:
The operation of this bus cabin is as follows: The bus driver sees a traveler in a wheelchair at the station. Once stopped, it presses a pulse button which triggers the automatic cycle below
- Door opening (5)
- Passage from (n) from (A) to (B)
- Passage from (3) from (B) to (C)
- Toggle from (4> to (D)
The wheelchair then enters the nacelle (3), its occupant in turn presses a pulse button which then sets in motion the following automatic cycle
- Closure of (4) yes @@@@@@ from (D) to a Vertical position.

- (3) goes from (B) to (A)

In the case of the departure of a wheelchair traveler, after stopping, the driver triggers the first cycle detailed above. He checks in his right rear view mirror the evacuation of the nacelle, then returns it by starting the Fifth cycle above.

SECURITIES:
Identical safety measures to that of the aft bus cabin are provided
- luminous flashing light at the bus operator station, during entry, exit and 12 exit position of the nacelle.

It is (5) closed which stops the flashing and authorizes the bus to leave.

 - Punch at the driver's seat and in the nacelle allowing the cycles to stop operating in the event of danger.

 The installation requires a hydraulic unit and an electrical cabinet, which can be placed under the bus floor, in the hatched area.

This BUS cabin takes up the space of approximately 2 seats, the system therefore condemns a place, it nevertheless retains all the advantages of the rear bus cabin and in particular

- Operation in masked time.

NOTES:
Given its lateral position, this cabin can also easily be adapted to a railway car.

 If necessary, and keeping the same principle, it will be possible to install 2 side bus cabs side by side.
