Abstract

The coffee mill has a hopper or funnel (11) into which the coffee beans are placed. It stands on top of a casing (10) which contains the coffee grinder element (12); this consists of a moving element acting against a stationary element. The coffee powder escapes sideways from the mill into a chute or opening (13) which is closed by a flap valve (21). The flap valve is hinged at the top (20). Normally it hangs vertically, closing the opening (13), but it can swing upwards to let the coffee powder escape. There is a plastics frame piece (16) set at an angle in front of the flap valve, which has an aperture through which the flap valve can swing. The coffee powder falls down from the flap valve into a container (14).
