Abstract

The screw head is retained by the profiled part of the retainer, with a facetted cut-out to grip the screw head. The other end of the retainer has a ratchet clip (6) which clips into a securing slit in the mounting. The plastics moulded retainer provides a simple, low cost security for the screw and is used to protect e.g. oil filler screws for hydraulic systems. It is fitted and removed without any special tools.
