Abstract

The station comprises a reception hopper with a side sloping inwards towards a vertical discharge door suspended on a horizontal pivot. Juice can escape between the door edge flap and the bottom of the sloping wall to run into a collecting tank. When the door is pivoted to an open position, grapes are dumped on to a conveyor band. The hopper, tank and conveyor assembly are mounted on a weighing platform. The grapes are handled more gently than by scren feeder reception. Used as reception and weighing station for freshly harvested grapes for winemaking, partic. for winemaking by the champagne method.
