Abstract

The coin box comprises a steel box with a hinged lid. The box has a carrying handle at each end. An orifice (16) for the coins has an opening which can be opened only once during attachment to the coin inlet assembly. The locking assembly comprises a blanking plate (10) which is mounted on a pivot shaft (20) and activated by a spring (12) fixed to an anchor point (17) and to a button (21) on the plate. A second plate (11) pivots on the shaft and stops against a claw (13) when activated by a spring (12). The two plates describe a circular movement when the coin orifice (16) is opened. The button moves in the slot (25) in the blanking plate and movement of the plates frees a piston (14) which presses against the blanking plate. A centering guide enters two openings and when the box is removed the springs return the plates to their initial positions.

The present invention relates to the collection device for periodically collecting coins and storing them temporarily in an inviolable manner.

Devices of this kind can be used in machines for distributing various objects or machines for obtaining prepaid services (transport tax, right of way)
The invention in question relates more particularly to automatic toll collection devices located on motorways.

The solution consists in equipping all vending or prepayment machines with a coin-retrieval chest in which real and effective theft protections are provided in order to make said safe tamper-proof and inaccessible during transport.

The device consists of: a cover, two hinges, two handles, a lock incorporated in the cover and a chest for temporary storage of collective money.

The boxes currently used by the fundraisers collected by the automatic toll machines are not fully inviolable, and if several manipulations take place between the place of collection and the transfer to the bank, there is always a risk of theft.

The main characteristics of the recuperator are located in the cover which has a closed orifice. This opening can only be opened once and only once when the empty box is placed in the prepayment machine. This orifice must then be placed under the chutes of the money collecting device. The recuperator consists of a chest, a cover, a counter cover, two handles cn sheet metal of sufficient thickness, even see stainless steel sheet to make it inviola ble for a sufficiently long time in case of burglary using chisels or other suitable tools.

The plan 1/8, FIGS. 1 to 5 represents the box made of sheet metal of parallelepipedal drill and formed on the upper island FIG. 3 by a cover into which is inserted the safety mechanism for opening and closing the chute. The sheet metal case is obtained by folding the two short sides of the bottom (plane 4/8) which will receive the other two parts called cheeks on the long side (plan 5/8). This is one of the possible manufacturing methods, but we can also reverse the cheeks on the long side 5/8 fig. 6. You can also proceed by cutting on all sides and joining by welding.

The cover will also be obtained by folding sheet metal (plan 6/8) and formed by 4 essential parts.

 1st part: The framework is obtained by folding the four sides and assembling the angles by 6/8 plane welding.

 2nd part: The support for fixing the mechanism and the lock forming an integral part of the frame of the cover this part is obtained by folding the sheet (see detail).

 3rd part: a folded sheet counter-cover is assembled by screws in the frame of the cover allowing the retention and the fitting of the lock as well as of the duct of the chute (16).

 4th part: A mechanical system allowing the safe opening and closing of the 3/8, 8/8 plane chute. This mechanism consists of a plate (10) pivoting on an axis (20) actuated by a spring (12) fixed on the part 17 and the button (21). The part 11 pivots on the part 20 and abuts on the part 13.

The part 11 is actuated by the spring 12 bis.

The location of the lock is shown in 15, the chute in 16.

A spring-actuated piston 14 serves as a condemnation to the part 10, the latter being the shutter of the chute 16 during the operation of the mechanism.

This system makes the opening of the recuperator inviolable, the recuperator is supplied to the motorway personnel in this case with the lid closed and the lock locked, the part 10 is then in its closed chute position and the piston 14 comes to bear on the part. 11 and in abutment on the part 13.

Users insert the recuperator into the coin collecting device by sliding it. During this operation the opening of the mechanism is carried out as follows: the button 21 enters a notch, it is actuated in its light 25 in an arc of circle allowing once and only the opening of the chute 16 The parts 10 and 11 describe a circular movement, releasing the piston 14 which then comes to bear on the shutter 10 of the chute. A centering guide and a lock are introduced into the two openings 23 and 24 (plate 6 - 8) provided for this purpose on the rear part of the framework of the cover of the recuperator. Total locking is carried out during the filling time of the recuperator. When filling is completed, unlocking of the opening 24 is carried out automatically with the closing of the chute.

The recuperator is then removed from the apparatus for collecting the pieces, the button 21 and the piece 10 return to their initial position in the light 25 actuated by the spring 12 thus condemning the chute 16. The recuperator can then be transported without fear flight. The interior of the safe is only accessible when the recuperator has been transferred to the places of deposit of funds (bank or other).

The cover can only be opened by means of the lock and the appropriate key. The mechanism is then automatically reset by the part 11 which, actuated by the return spring 12 bis, returns to its place in abutment on the lug 13.

The invention provides additional security in the cover: the part 18 makes access to the mechanism inaccessible through the holes 23 and 24 during the transfer of the recuperator from the device for collecting the parts instead of depositing funds (bank. .).

This above-mentioned invention is not limited to the sole application of automatic motorway toll machines.

It can be applied to all prepayment machines or distributors of goods.

Claims (9)

1 - Safety recuperator for collection and storage  temporary money to collect periodically  only coins and thus allowing trans  safe fund raising.
