Abstract

The spigot (1) on the end of the tube (4) has a conical washer (2) driven onto it with the expansion facing the second flexible tube (5). This tube is fabricated from spirally wound interlocking or welded coils. A ring (6) of brazing material is threaded over the spigot and rests in the conical washer (2). The end of the tube (5) is then introduced onto the spigot. When the assembly is heated the brazing ring (6) melts and the end of the tube (5) is pushed into the molten bath which enters into the coils of the tube to form the joint.
