Abstract

Washing machine comprises a vertical cylindrical container enclosing a removable, perforated drum having a handle on the upper end. At the bottom of the container is a rotatable plate having means for centring and locking the drum to it, and which is connected to an electric motor which can impart a continuous or alternating rotation. The upper end of the container comprises a removable lid which permits the drum to be lifted out when the locks have been released, for ease of loading and unloading. The machine can be rested horizontally in a supporting cradle, enabling the drum to rotate horizontally, whilst a blower fixed to the underside of the (open) lid blows hot air into it to dry the load.
