Abstract

The process is for making a supple casual shoe that has its upper (1) made of cotton fabric. The bottom (2) of the upper is turned in, all round its edge, and fixed under the inner sole (3), which is previously glued. The upper and inner sole are then welded or bonded to the sole (4) that is made of supple synthetic material, such as microcellular foam. The inner sole is made of chords that are juxtaposed longitudinally and bonded on to a sheet (7) that can be cotton or latex. This is reinforced by transverse stitching.

Description

 The present invention relates to shoes whose upper is made of canvas and the sole is partly of rope.

 We know the classic sneakers whose top is made of a canvas or braided straps retaining the sole at the foot. The soles are of braided sparta or rope, offering a certain comfort for the soles of the feet in terms of warming up and sweat.

 But these sneakers have a disadvantage that the rope is in direct contact with the ground, making them very fragile in use.

 To alleviate this drawback, the braiding of the rope must be carried out with great care both in terms of assembly and tightening, increasing its cost price.

In addition, the rope in contact with the ground, gets wet very quickly causing its tearing in the short term and prematurely rendering the espadrille unusable.

 There are also espadrilles with a braided rope sole, which is provided with a thin plastic sheet, two millimeters maximum, avoiding direct contact with the ground, but does not protect the rope on the sides in case of rain or wet pavement.

 Another disadvantage of this sole is that the plastic sheet peels off, around its periphery, providing temporary protection.

 The process, object of the present invention, makes it possible to avoid these drawbacks, in fact, the rope part of the sole is entirely protected from rain and moisture, bringing comfort to the foot and better longevity of the shoe.

 The espadrille which is the subject of the present application comprises a classic canvas upper and a cojn sole, taking a first part in jute cord and a sole made of synthetic foam.

 The first has the distinction of having a thickness of a few millimeters and of being associated with a flexible synthetic foam sole having a thickness of about two centimeters.

 Another peculiarity of the shoe is that the periphery of the sole is entirely constituted by a synthetic foam, flexible and thermoformed or injected or molded or cut.

 This flexible synthetic foam can also be made with an elastic and resistant substance such as rubber.

 According to a variant form, the sole can be designed flat or with a heel. In this process, the sole can be drawn with a right foot and a left foot or evenly for both feet.

 The upper can be made from a monochrome or polychrome canvas, cotton or linen. Said fabric being alternatively replaced by a strap or strap.

 The accompanying drawings illustrate by way of nonlimiting example an embodiment of the espadrille according to the present invention.

 Figure 1 shows a brief section, in elevation, of the espadrille.

 Figure 2 partially shows the front tip of the espadrille, in two parts.

 The process for. obtaining the espadrille represented in FIGS. 1 and 2, consists in that a vamp 1 made of cotton canvas is turned over in its lower part 2 around its entire periphery under the first 3 and glued with the latter; forming part A shown (in Figure 2); which part A is positioned and secured to part B (Figure 2) which consists of a synthetic microcellular foam 4, by welding or gluing.

 The microcellular foam can be monochrome or polychrome, in the horizontal or vertical direction. In part B (FIG. 2) the line 5 shows diagrammatically the separation of the colors.

 The first part 3 consists of rope 6 made of jute or linen, just lengthwise forming a mattress, which jute ropes are glued onto a sheet 7 of cotton to keep them joined. The retention of the strings 6 can be reinforced by several transverse seams.

 The sheet 7 can be cotton or latex or P.V.C. assembled by coating.

 The present process can be applied for these outdoor shoes as well as for apartment.

Claims (7)

1) Method for obtaining a waterproof and flexible espadrille, characterized in that a canvas upper (1) is turned over in its lower part (2); on its entire periphery, under the first (3), which is previously glued on its periphery, so as to join to said upper; then the upper (1) and the first (3) spnt secured to a sole (4) of flexible synthetic material by welding or gluing. 2) Method for obtaining a espadrille according to claim 1, characterized in that the first part (3) consists of ropes juxtaposed longitudinally forming a mattress glued to a sheet (7) of cotton or assembled by coating. 3) Method for obtaining a espadrille according to claim 2, characterized in that the strings can be kept joined against the sheet by transverse seams.  l 4) Method for obtaining a espadrille, according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the sole itself is essentially constituted by a flexible and thermoformed synthetic material or injected or molded or cut. 5) Espadrille according to claim 1, characterized in that the sole is made of synthetic material such as a microcellular foam or of elastic material such as rubber. 6) Espadrille according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper and the sole can be monochrome or polychrome. 7) Espadrille according to claim 1, characterized in that the sole can be designed flat or with a heel.
