Abstract

2-part hardenable compsn. comprises a liquid pane comprising a modified acrylic copolymer resin and an acrylic plasticiser in soln. or in suspension in water, and a solid part comprising a cpd. which causes expansion of the resin. Specifically, the solid part contains plaster and cement and an agent of compatibility between these two, namely TiO2. In use, the 2 parts are mixed. The compsn. is used as a sound and heat insulating coating. It does not exhibit ageing phenomenon and can be used at very high temp. (up to 1000 deg.C) without alteration or detachment from a support. Dissociation between the plaster and the cement does not occur. The compsn. can be applied as very thin layers (3-4 mm).
