Abstract

The door seal for a motor vehicle comprises a rubber section (1) which pinches on to a rim of the bodywork. It has a serrated profile to encourage grip, and a tubular section (2) which incorporates holes (3) in the wall (4) along its length to produce areas of small resistance to deformation. The holes (3) are protected by a lip (5). When the seal is in operation when the door is closed, the wall of the tubular section (2) deforms because of the holes (3) producing a watertight seal.
