TOOTHBRUSH WITH DIFFERENT HEIGHT HAIR BRUSHES

The invention relates to a toothbrush

with tufts of hairs of different heights.

For a long time, he has been known

toothbrushes whose pile height is not

aunt but varies so that the cleaning surface formed by the tops of the bristles adapts anatomically

at the average curvature of the dental vault of the user.

In particular, we know toothbrushes whose bristles are all mounted in a staggered arrangement, that is to say a provision in which the height of the bristles increases in linear progression when moving away.

the end of the toothbrush opposite the handle.

This type of staggered toothbrush has several advantages over

conventional toothbrushes It allows, for example, to

easier to dye molars from the bottom of the dente-

even for subjects with narrow and small mouths; it also makes it possible to satisfactorily remove food deposits from gum tents and eliminate plaque made of bacteria, while performing

a stimulating massage of the gums.

It has been found that it is still possible to improve the advantages of the staggered toothbrushes by arranging tufts of pile in rows

15942

parallel. To this end, the invention relates to a toothbrush characterized in that the set of bristles consists of a first series of tufts whose height is progressively increasing from the end of the brush opposite the handle, and in a second series of tufts of constant height, these last tufts being regularly alternated with the tufts of hairs of

the first series.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the height of the hairs of the first series linearly increases with the distance between these

bristles and the tip of the toothbrush opposite the

nied. In fact, in the method of use of the toothbrush according to the invention, the hairs of constant height, while gently massaging the gums, cooperate with the hairs of variable height to reach

the least accessible places between the teeth.

The invention will be described in detail by means of the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a side view of a toothbrush according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a plan view of a toothbrush according to the invention; and Figure 3 shows a view of

side of another form of toothbrush according to the invention.

It will be noted that although the figures

represent toothbrushes with straight or bent handle, -

the actual brush part characterizing the invention applies equally to a toothbrush bent in the direction of a dental mirror or to a toothbrush cranked in an in-verse direction (where the angular inclination being less than 1800 in the first case and greater than 1800 in the second case)

15942

A toothbrush according to the invention essentially comprises a straight and rigid handle 1 pierced at the end 2 opposite the handle 3, of a series

holes arranged in parallel rows and intended to receive

see tufts of hair. Referring more particularly to Figure 1, the tufts of bristles comprise a first series of bristles (51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56) whose heights grow in linear progression from the end 2 opposite the handle 3, to get closer to this handle 3, and a second series of bristles (6) regularly alternated with the tufts of hair of the first series, the height

tufts of hair of this second series being constant.

Although, in the practical forms

embodiment of the toothbrushes according to the invention,

1 to 3, the height of the tufts of bristles (6) of the second series is slightly less than the height of the first tuft (51) of the first series (5, 5, 53,), it is obvious that the invention also relates to toothbrushes for which the height of the second tufts of bristles of constant height (6) is the same or slightly greater than the height of the first tuft e 5) of the first series of tufts of hair of

variable heights.

Of course, within the scope of the invention, it is possible to modify the sizes and materials of the handle and the bristles of the brushes. For example, it is possible to modify the choice of the materials of the bristles, depending on whether

wants to get a hard, medium or soft toothbrush.

Claims (1)

1 toothbrush whose bristles are grouped in tufts arranged in parallel rows, toothbrush characterized in that the set of bristles (7) consists of a first series of tufts (51, 52, 53) whose height is progressively growing from
the end of the brush opposite the handle, and in a second
series of tufts (6) of constant height, the latter tufts being regularly alternated with the tufts of bristles of the first series, 2 toothbrush according to claim 1, characterized in that the height of the bristles (51, 52, 53 ) of the first series linearly increases with the distance between these bristles and the end of the brush to
teeth opposite the handle.
