Abstract

The system is intended for sports halls or agricultural buildings with wooden or metallic roof beams. Four roof panels are free to move longitudinally on rails fixed to the walls of the building near the eaves and near the peak of the roof. Each panel is independent of the others, allowing various combinations of part-open and part-closed. The roof panels are fitted with a rack gear, mounted on an internal surface. An electric motor with a pinion gear on its output shaft is fixed onto the roof frame, and the pinion meshes with the rack. When the motor is energised the roof panels move in accord with the direction of rotation of the motor.
