Abstract

The cardboard fruit tray is made by folding a cut and grooved blank, taking the form of an open rectangular box. The walls (2,4,13) are of a uniform height and have a double thickness of cardboard once the flaps (5,14,15) are folded inside, the height being equal to or less than half the box width. The flaps (3,5) to the long walls (2,4) are of the same height, each being connected to the outer panel by a hinge (7) running along the relevant top edge of the finished box. The flaps are cut from a panel of the same size as the floor panel, being shaped so as to leave internal top edge end wall returns (19) and incorporating end tabs (20,21). The tabs return through end wall slots (16) to secure the assembly, and half flaps (14,15) on the ends of the long sides double the end walls.

Claims
