Abstract

The device defines a stable rest position for electromagnetic relays of the rocking-armature type and helps eliminate relay sticking. The rocking armature (3) pivots about a knife edge (13). An elastically deformable element (2) such as a coil spring, is held against the chamfered external corner face (P) of the armature by a rigid angle section (1a,1b). When the relay armature moves, it disturbs the symmetry of the forces acting on the spring and generates a restoring couple which tends to return the armature to its stable rest position. The dimensions of the circular cross section of the spring can be of the order of 1mm.
