Abstract

The implement cuts a cheese into equal parts in a single operation, using a pivotable cutting frame (3) mounted on a base (1). The frame acts as a lever with tensioned cutting wires (4), and acts in association with a support grid (2) for the cheese. The wires are highly tensioned by screws (5) and the tension is adjustable, the grid having concentric circular markings (6) or stops for the centring of round or long cheeses respectively. The working parts are demountable and interchangeable to aid both cleaning and modification to suit different cheeses. Frame movement normal to the base may be contrived by using pantograph mountings or columns guiding sliding motion, the implement being operated manually or by a motor.
