Abstract

The stretcher includes a strong plastics sheet supported by a pair of three-piece rods. Each of the other parts of the rods (1,2) fit into the ends of the tubular section (3) and into short sleeves (6) fixed to cross-pieces (4,5) which join the two rods at top and bottom. The elements of the stretcher are held in place by spring bolts (9) which can be released so that the stretcher can be completely dismantled for storage. The plastics sheet (11) is in the form of a sleeve with two parallel weld lines adjacent the longitudinal edges to form channels through which the rods are inverted.

Description

Removable stretcher.

 The present invention relates to a stretcher which comprises a removable rigid frame and a flexible part for supporting the body of the injured or sick person to be transported.

 There are known assemblies intended for the transport of wounded which are very simple: a canvas supported longitudinally by two stretchers whose ends, coming out of the canvas, serve as handles.

 There are also known more elaborate stretchers, in particular those which equip ambulances. However, it appeared necessary to propose an intermediate device, simple but nevertheless possessing characteristics such that it allows the use of compression devices to evacuate the wounded in all positions and under the most advantageous conditions, evacuations on the stairs. elevators, when disassembled it can be stored in a travel bag provided for this purpose and whose size and weight are reduced.

 The present invention, as characterized in the claims, associates a removable flexible part with a removable rigid frame comprising the stretchers, the head and foot spacers, the handles and a base resting on the ground. The head and foot spacers are equipped with means for fixing restraint devices imagined by the applicant, which have been the subject of prior patents. These devices include devices for traction of the cranio-cervical area, head or neck, or for counter-extension and immobilization, support, blocking of the hips, for example for the transport of injured spine, pelvis, lower limbs or multiple trauma victims.

 The assembly of the elements constituting the frame and their association with the support fabric of the patient are easy and quick.

 In what follows the invention is explained in more detail with the help of drawings representing only one embodiment.

 Figures 1 and 2 show that the frame of the stretcher is made up of an assembly of eight pieces of metal tubes, in particular but not exclusively, made of aluminum having the appropriate resistance and elasticity characteristics. The frame therefore comprises two stretchers, each in three longitudinal parts of the same length, two end tubes 1 and 2 and a central tube 3 whose diameter is just greater than the outside of parts 1 and 2 so as to allow the introduction of the end of the tubes 1 and 2 inside the central tube 3, over a length judiciously calculated in order to ensure good resistance of the fitting. Two head 4 and foot 5 spacers at the ends of which sleeves 6 are fitted with lower legs 7 are intended to hold the stretchers 1, 2, 3 at a fixed distance from each other. On the upper part of each spacer 4, 5, are fixed at least three hooks 8 constituting the attachment points of the straps of the compression devices by introduction of said hooks into the eyelets of the straps.

 In FIGS. 1 and 2 it can also be seen that the assembly of the spacers 4 and 5 is carried out by fitting the free end of the two tubes 1 and 2 of the stretchers in the sleeve 6 of the said spacers 4 and 5, that the tubes 1 and 2 pass right through the sleeves 6 to form the handles of the stretchers thus formed. Note in Figures 1 to 3 that spring locks 9 of known type serve as a stop and ensure the locking of the elements during their assembly.

 Furthermore, the base of the stretcher, consisting of the four feet 7 integral with the sleeves 6 and spacers 4, 5, as well as the end of the tubes 1 and 2 forming handles are provided with end caps 10 made of plastic or rubber .

 We can consider making the frame in reinforced plastic tube or other equivalent.

 The removable flexible part 11 which covers the stretcher is made of strong coated or plasticized canvas which is presented as a sheath; it allows the introduction of stretchers 1 2 - 3 along each longitudinal fold.

 Of course a puncture 13 and / or a glue line can be provided in recess along each side to provide a corridor 14 for guiding the stretchers.

 Once mounted the stretcher has the advantage of being light, comfortable and allows the transport of injured and also agitated patients who have lost their control, drugged or excited, which can thus be maintained by attaching them to this stretcher which can replace the straitjacket in certain emergencies. Restraints are perfectly suited for all evacuation cases.

 Figure 3 shows the elements constituting the stretcher, stretchers removed from the sleeves 6 of the spacers 4 and 5, the fabric 11 carefully folded. The bag of Figure 4 contains all the elements of Figure 3 and we see that the handling is easy.

 It goes without saying that modifications can be made to the device which has just been described in particular by substitution of equivalent technical means, for example as regards the locking of the elements together, without going beyond the framework of the present invention.
