Abstract

The support for an attache case in a motor vehicle comprises a clamp (5) for holding the case (6) to a frame (1) one end of which is pivotally attached to two legs (2) resting on the floor. The other end is pivotally attached to two suckers (4) secured to the windscreen. The attache case is provided with a work surface (7) which folds up inside the case during transit and which folds out to rest on the steering wheel when in use. The legs (2) and the suckers (4) are pref. telescopically adjustable.

Description

 The present invention relates to the field of accessories for motor vehicles, and relates to a device for supporting a briefcase with a work surface, adaptable to motor vehicles.

 Currently, motor vehicles generally do not allow small office work to be carried out under acceptable working conditions. Indeed, these vehicles are not equipped with any flat, fixed or removable surface, allowing such work, and these are carried out using as support, either an accessory plate, which is simply placed on the steering wheel, or even the briefcase briefcase itself.

 The object of the present invention is to overcome these disadvantages.

 It relates, in fact, to a device for supporting a document carrying case provided with a work surface, adaptable to motor vehicles, characterized in that it is essentially constituted by an articulated base provided with two feet bearing on the vehicle floor and each provided with an angled part, two suction cups for holding the windshield, and a device for holding and tightening a briefcase, and in that the The case is provided with a folding work surface inside its bottom, and which can be unfolded on the steering wheel of the vehicle in the use position.

 The invention will be better understood thanks to the description below, which relates to a preferred embodiment, given by way of nonlimiting example, and explained with reference to the appended schematic drawing, the single figure of which is a view in perspective of the device according to the invention.

 The support device for a briefcase adaptable to motor vehicles is essentially constituted by an articulated base 1 provided with two feet 2 bearing on the floor of the vehicle and each provided with a bent portion 3, two suction cups 4 for holding the windshield, and for a device 5 for holding and tightening a document carrying case 6. The latter is advantageously provided with a work surface 7 which can be folded inside its bottom 8, and can be unfolded on the vehicle steering wheel in the use position.

 The feet 2 are preferably telescopic feet, and the suction cups 4 are also mounted on telescopic axes, so that the device can be adapted to any motor vehicle. In addition, the feet 2 and the support axes of the suction cups 4 are mounted with the possibility of pivoting on the frame I ′ carrying the device 5 for holding and tightening the case 6.

 The work surface 7 is advantageously in the form of a tablet constituted by two elements hinged together by means of hinges 9, and one of which is integral with the bottom 8 of the case 6, also by means of hinges, or the like.

 The device 5 for holding and tightening the case 6 is constituted by a fixed lower stop 10 and by a movable and adjustable stop Il loaded by spring.

This device 5 makes it possible to adapt the base 1 to cases of various dimensions without any accessory element.

 Thanks to the invention, it is possible to carry out certain office work directly in a motor vehicle, in perfect conditions, by simple mounting of the device in front of the front passenger seat and by unfolding the work surface 7 on the steering wheel, 1 space in front of the passenger seat which can be entirely freed by folding the plane 7 into the bottom 8 of the case 6, by dismantling the latter from the base 1, and by folding the feet 2 and the axes carrying the suction cups 4 around the joints of the chassis 1 '.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the accompanying drawing. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements, or by substitution of technical equivalents, without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
