Abstract

The automatic damper is installed in a hot air outlet duct (1) and consists of two flaps (4) which seal against the duct sides in the closed position. The flaps (4) are suspended from a support (3) on hinges (5). Two bi-metal strips (8) suspended from the support cross-bracket (7) pass through a slot (9) in the flaps. Hot air causes the bi-metal strips to deform inwards and open the flaps (4). If the air cools the bi-metal strips return the damper to the closed position.
