Abstract

The carburettor is for an i.c.-engine running on light fuel, and is of rectangular block shape. Fuel is delivered at a number of different points in staggered formation on its inner vertical face. The struts between the side plates can incorporate staggered apertures feeding in unburnt gases recovered from the crankcase, the valve cover, and the outlet from the silencer. The mixture proportion can be regulated by a linkage acting on a valve exposed to an equal vacuum on both sides, and moved upwards to uncover different ports in linear proportion.

Description

The object of the invention is a high-efficiency carburetor intended for the supply of automobile engines operating on light fuels.

This carburetor has several features making it more efficient. Firstly, a parallelepipedal shape which allows a plane intake control flap providing a linear variation intake, then the distribution of the fuel supply orifices distributed over a surface. , which makes the air-fuel mixture immediately homogeneous. In addition to these various favorable provisions, this carburetor reviews gases partially used or mixed with oil vapors or these characteristics will be preserved. Note however that the possibility has been mentioned to insert on the fuel or gas intake circuit at various points, an organ giving very rapid vibratory movements to the gas stream. This organ is used here on the fuel circuit itself and before the carburetor.

We will thus have a carburetor which will no longer be used solely with a fuel in the pure state with an admission of gases depending on a variation of a circular function. On the other hand this carburetor will make it possible to envisage, mixed with gasoline, another fuel of national origin, renewed annually.

We know that one gram of gasoline Provides eleven calories when burned with fifteen liters of air.For alcohol, we only collect five and a half calories by bringing a little more than eight liters of air. against one gram of charcoal releases eight calories by providing eleven liters of combustion air.
Forests, an infinite variety of wood waste, allow to have a cheap raw material as well as an Easy treatment to obtain a charcoal easily transformable into a very Fine powder. This powder will be incorporated in the gasoline in a proportion which can be of the order of fifteen percent of the total amount of fuel. This mixture will first be directed into a hollow body where an electromagnet will drive a thin metal wall at a high frequency, so to ensure good homogeneity of the fuel Formed of petrol and carbon dust, this accessory will be fixed to the carburetor object of the invention.

The appended drawing illustrates, by way of example, an embodiment of the device in accordance with the invention. The carburetor seen in perspective Figure 1 shows the song of the cheek [C3 where the orifices are seen (T) bringing the fuel into the carburetor. Figure 2 shows the internal face of the cheek [C) 1 distributed on lines 5 the Cs 3 holes of the outlets / can be otherwise arranged. Figure 3 is a vertical section of the vibrator ensuring the homogeneity of the fuel mixture liquid-combustible powder. This accessory consists of a first half-shell (1) pressing against a second (2) separated by a thin blade (3). In the first shell is an electromagnet (4) whose magnetic core C5) is movable, however, being integral with the membrane, generally made of thin steel (3).

A pipe E2a) reviews the mixture pumped into the tank and a very short pipe (2b) introduces the mixture into the orifices [T) of the carburetor.

The invention applies to all internal combustion engines supplied with light fuels. A particularly interesting application will be made to petrol vehicles which could also be supplied with a petrol-alcohol mixture which is less rich in calories.
