Abstract

A compsn. for removing graffiti comprises (a) 74-93.5% CH2Cl2; (b) 5-20% of an alcohol e.g. MeOH, (c) 5-20% of a ketone solvent e.g. acetone, (d) 1.5-5% of a frosting agent and (e) less than 1% water. The compsn. is dispersed as an aerosol. Used for removing graffiti from materials such as concrete, brick, cement, stone, marble, paper, fabric and the like. The compsn. is sprayed onto the surface, allowed to rest for a few minutes, brushed and then rinsed. To remove graffiti from a painted surface, the compsn. is sprayed on a wet surface, e.g. a sponge or rag and the painted surface is rubbed with the sponge or rag.

2. Composition according to claim 1, characterized in that the icing agent consists of a plastic paraffin with a melting point below 400C, or by lauric alcohol.

3. Composition according to claim 2, characterized in that it also contains an emulsifying agent for paraffin or lauric acid.

4. Composition according to claim 3, characterized in that said icing agent is ammonium dodecylbenzene sulfonate and in that it represents from 1.5 to 5X of the composition.

7. Composition according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that it comprises two agents intended respectively to prevent the formation of rust and holes in said sprayer.

- sodium benzoate which represents from 0 to 1% of the composition,

- Morpholine which represents from 0 to 1% of the composition.

9. Composition according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the ketone solvent is acetone.
