Description

The present invention relates to a cleaning product for surfaces to remove dirt, including building facades or any other surfaces covered with soiling from air pollution.

The urban atmosphere is becoming more and more charged and concentrated in combustion products. These, more or less greasy and mixed with dust, deposit over time a hard deposit, black or color tending towards black, very adherent and unsightly, on surfaces such as facades buildings.

The sulfur dioxide SO 2 , very present in these deposits reacts with these surfaces, generally calcium, to give a calcium sulfate difficult to remove, leading in some cases to the degradation of the material itself by the formation of calcium sulfate dihydrate.

We already know different methods of cleaning surfaces covered with dirt, in particular methods of abrasion cleaning such as sandblasting and scrubbing. These processes have the disadvantage of being costly and not to respect the treated surfaces.

We also know the cleaning methods by action chemical, especially processes using detergents strongly basic, dangerous for the user and likely to weaken calcium surfaces. Use of these detergents can lead to training over time unattractive efflorescence.

In addition, methods of cleaning by abrasion or by chemical action requires protecting openings that may exist, especially on the facades of buildings, such as doors, windows, or verandas. Indeed, these openings may, during cleaning, be touched by splashes abrasives or detergents, which could damage the woodwork, paints, windows or aluminum structures of these openings.

The present invention therefore relates to a product of simple and effective cleaning, which overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art and in particular makes it possible to remove deposits highly adherent and unsightly pollutants.

The present invention relates to a cleaning product surfaces to remove dirt consisting of aqueous composition containing at least one sodium formate, potassium, or ammonium, advantageously formate ammonium, said formate being present in an amount of 10 to 40% by weight relative to the total weight of the product, and said composition having a pH of approximately 7 to 9 and preferably about 8.

By reacting sodium, potassium, or of ammonium on poorly soluble calcium sulfate, present on polluted surfaces, we get little calcium carbonate adhering and sodium, potassium, or ammonium sulfate soluble, these two reaction products can be easily eliminated with water.

The near-neutral pH prevents any reaction cleaning product with the materials of the treated support, and more particularly when it is made of limestone, in brick, or cement.

In addition, the cleaning product according to the invention is without effect on windows, woodwork, paints and structures aluminum openings that are commonly encountered on the facades of buildings. Therefore, it is not necessary to protect the openings on the facades to be cleaned when cleaning them with the product according to the invention.

Le produit de nettoyage selon l'invention peut également comprendre un ou plusieurs agents tensioactifs, de préférence non moussant(s) ou faiblement moussant(s).The cleaning product according to the invention can also include one or more surfactants, preferably non-foaming or weakly foaming.

The choice of surfactants can be important, because these constituents act in synergy with formate. The surfactants also help dissolve fatty substances, and consequently to the elimination of all the products of more or less fatty pollutants.

Surfactants usable according to the invention generally represent from 2 to 10% by weight of the total weight of the cleaning product according to the invention.

Advantageously, the surfactant (s) are amphoteric.

As an example of an amphoteric surfactant which can be used according to the invention, mention may be made of the sodium salt of alkylamine marketed under the name AMPHOTENSID EH by the ZSCHIMMER & SCHWARZ. This surfactant is not only an excellent solubilizer for fatty substances, but it is also non-foaming.

Preferably, the surfactant (s) are combined to a quaternary ammonium salt.

As an example of a quaternary ammonium derivative usable according to the invention, mention will be made of acetyl chloride dimethylammonium marketed by VALUY under the name VITALUB QA5D Na, which is a good detergent and is in addition fungicide, bactericide and algicide.

Since the product according to the invention is a aqueous cleaning composition intended to be applied, in many cases, on inclined vertical surfaces, it generally includes at least one additive chosen from thickening agents, viscosifiers, agents gelling agents and their mixtures. Indeed, additives promote the adhesion of the cleaning product according to the invention to the surfaces to be cleaned, especially vertical surfaces or inclined, so that the cleaning product according to the invention stays in touch permanently, usually several hours with the surface to be cleaned, without that the product does not leak or dry out prematurely by evaporation.

In addition, these additives also make it possible to limit the action of the product on the surface of the support.

The viscosifying agents which can be used according to the invention can advantageously be chosen from agents hydrophilic water-retaining viscosifiers, which have the advantage of keeping the product for several hours humid, slowing down its evaporation.

As hydrophilic viscosifying agent usable according to the invention, mention may be made of xanthan gum sold by MONSANTO under the name KELZAN S.

The gelling agents which can be used according to the invention are of advantageously thixotropic, so that the product of cleaning according to the invention remains firmly in place on the surface without sinking.

As gelling agents which can be used according to the invention, may include natural or synthetic mineral colloids, especially bentonite, colloids based on aluminosilicate marketed by LAPORTE under the name Laponite RDS, or AEROSIL from DEGUSSA.

The additive (s) which can be used according to the invention are generally present at 2 to 10% by weight of the weight total of the composition. The proportions of these additives can vary depending on the means of application used (projection, roller, spatula, brush) and the nature of the materials constituting the surfaces to be cleaned.

Exemple 1Example 1

  • (b) On introduit ensuite, sous agitation et à vitesse élevée, 1 kg de Kelzan S. Puis, on laisse tourner le mélangeur pour laisser à la solution le temps de monter en viscosité ;
  • A first cleaning product according to the invention was prepared by proceeding as follows:
  • (a) An aqueous solution of ammonium formate is produced first, by introducing into a stainless steel tank fitted with a variator stirrer containing 60 l of water, 11 kg of formic acid and 14 kg of ammonia at 28 degrees Baumé. The solution is allowed to cool and then the pH is adjusted to 8.
  • (b) Then, with stirring and at high speed, 1 kg of Kelzan S is introduced. Then, the mixer is allowed to rotate to give the solution time to increase in viscosity;
  • (c) Then added, still stirring and at high speed, a mixture prepared in advance comprising 8 kg of water and 8 kg of Laponite RDS.
  • (d) When the whole is well homogeneous, 4 kg of AMPHOTENSID EH and 2 kg of VITALUB QA5D Na are then added, with stirring.
