Abstract

The instrument has a pair of jaws (15) which are slidably mounted in a cylindrical housing (1). These jaws can be extended to grip a support (2) on which are fixed a set of points (3). A cylindrical envelope (4) surrounds the points and is hermetically sealed at the distal end by a diaphragm (9). The jaws are initially opened and extended to grip the shape of the support and envelope. As they are retracted, the edge of the housing abuts against a shoulder (7) surrounding the envelope to force the support and envelope to separate. The jaws are then extended again for scratching the skin with the points.
