Abstract

The tamper proof stopper is for a ring type threaded neck of a container. It has two parts of plastics material one of which is a capsule with the upper part threaded (1). The lower part (3) is jointed to the upper by a zone of weakened resistance. A ring (4) is snapped on to the lower part of the capsule. The ring has a flexible retainer gripping below the ring when unscrewed and causing rupture of the weakened zone when first unscrewed. The flexible facility if formed by a lip sloped (5) towards the capsule base.

INVIOLABLE
The object of the present invention is a closure device of the inviolable type for a container, the neck of which comprises at its end a threaded ring. This device consists of two plastic elements, on the one hand, a capsule whose upper part is female threaded according to a profile corresponding to the male thread of the ring and whose lower part is connected to the upper part only by a zone of low resistance and, on the other hand, an independent ring but fixed by snap-fastening to the lower part of the capsule.

It is well known to produce screw caps of the inviolable type whose inviolability is ensured by a zone of low resistance at mid-height of the skirt, as can be seen in French patents 2,090,209, 2,176 472, 2 179 604. The lower part is retained on the neck of the bottle by application to this neck below the ring in excess thickness. When opening for the first time, the low resistance zone is broken. The lower part of the capsule remains trapped under the ring, or breaks. The threaded upper part allows the container to be filled.

Tamper-evident closure devices have also been produced in two elements: on the one hand, a screw-on closure cap made of metal or plastic and, on the other hand, a tamper-evident ring which remains trapped under the neck of the neck or breaks when first opened.

The object of the present invention is a plugging device of the inviolable type in two elements, on the one hand, a closure cap made of plastic material, the upper part of which is female threaded and the lower part of which is connected to the upper part by a zone of low resistance, on the other hand, a ring fixed by snap-fastening inside the lower part of the capsule. This ring has the distinction of being provided with elastic retaining means which snap into place under the neck of the neck during the first installation of the device in two elements. During the first opening, the elastic means for retaining the ring, most often an internal circular lip, fulfilling their function, retain the ring under the ring and cause the zone of low resistance of the capsule to rupture, which makes manifest the first opening.

A capsule is thus obtained which is easy to produce with the materials currently traditional in the plastic closure industry.

The invention will be better understood from the description below of a concrete embodiment corresponding to the attached figure where the device is shown in half-section and half-elevation.

As can be clearly seen in the half section, the closure device essentially consists of two elements: on the one hand, a polypropylene capsule, the upper part (t) of which is female threaded and the lower part (2) in the form of a crown of revolution are connected only by six bridges (3) of small section; on the other hand, a ring (4) of more flexible material having an inner lip {5) -de retained - oriented obliquely towards the bottom of the capsule. The ring (4) can rotate in the lower part (2) of the capsule but is retained in the latter by axial snap-fitting of the complementary ribs (6-7) of the ring (4) and the lower part (2 ) of the capsule. The rib (6) of the ring has a conical shape at the top to facilitate its positioning in the capsule.

On the bottom of the capsule, a thin circular tongue (8) molded ensures a good seal on the mouth of the ring neck (9).

When the container (10) is plugged for the first time, the thin and flexible lip (5) moves apart and allows easy screwing. Then, as shown in the figure, it snaps under the lower edge of the ring (9).

During the first unscrewing, the lip (5) snaps inside on the ring of the M ot (el pressed on the outside on the lower part 2) of the capsule. The bridges (3) of the capsule break. The lower part (2) of the device falls on the shoulder of the container (10), making the first opening of the container visible and thus ensuring the tamper-evident function.

Two or more thinning operations can be carried out according to generators in the ring (4) to facilitate its splitting after the first opening, which facilitates the reuse of the container.
