Abstract

A hydromechanic light range regulator for automobile headlights (dip regulator) comprises flexible hydraulic lines. Each hydraulic line (14) is composed of an inner tube (17) of elastic material, esp. thermoplastics, more specifically polyethylene, a surrounding metal foil tube (19) to form a vapour barrier, and an outer sheath (21) of elastic material, pref. thermoplastics, more specifically polyethylene. The metal foil (19) may be formed of a strip, laminated onto the inner tube and bonded at its overlapping edges or welded at its butt edges. This is esp. of aluminium or aluminium alloy. This composite tube, contg. a metal foil as vapour barrier, prevents or inhibits the permeation of gas and vapour from the hydraulic fluid into the plastics of the tube, with consequent loss of pressure.
