Description

The invention relates to the installation of insulating panels with double glazing

on window frames without

  rebates of sufficient width to receive such panels.

It is therefore, in practice, single glazed windows that one wishes to renovate. We know that double-glazed panels are composed of two panes separated by an air gap and joined along

of their edges by an intermediate metal profile, (general-

  aluminum) covered on its outer edge with a seal

made of insulating elastomer.

We proceed with the installation of these insulating panels after having unmastified and completely removed the old glass, by putting the panel in place by means of profiles which are fixed

  to the window frame by means of screws.

  We have imagined various forms of profiles comprising a gutter wider than the rebate of the chassis and intended to receive the insulating panel and a fixing strip by screws on the amount of the chassis. The most common profile has a Y shape: the gutter, formed by the upper Y fork, rests on one side of the upright and has the disadvantage of stopping part of the light; while the fixing strip, constituted by the leg of the Y, placed at the bottom of the rabbet, is covered with mastic to ensure sealing, which harms the aesthetics from

  Plastic profile for fixing an insulating panel with double glazing to a window frame, comprising a U-shaped gutter in relatively rigid plastic, a first lateral branch (11) and the bottom (12) bear on the bottom of the rebate of the upright, while the second lateral branch (13) projects from the outside face of the upright, characterized by a blade (2) of relatively rigid plastic material, perpendicular to the bottom (12) of the gutter and starting from the face of said bottom opposite the branches, said blade being placed to come into abutment on the external face of the upright and by a plastic band (3) articulated on the first lateral branch and relatively flexible, so as to come marry the molding of the upright located on the inside of the window, said strip (3) used for fixing the profile by means of screws and cooperating with a screw cover (4).
