Abstract

The device cleans the needle while the player arm is at rest. The device has a cylinder mounted coaxially on a lower support cylinder, the two being telescopic with a connection between the two such that rotation of the upper cylinder adjusts its height. The lower cylinder is secured to the player deck beneath the needle rest position. A piezoelectric cell is located in a stainless steel cup in the upper part of the upper cylinder and is activated by an electronic generator mounted in the deck. The device avoids the problems associated with normal needle-cleaning devices.
